Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between William Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paco Angel Marquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, William Wallace! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Paco Angel Marquez! The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Marquez throws a shot from downtown. Wallace moves away and avoids it. Wallace darts in looking for a takedown but Marquez gets double underhooks and turns Wallace into the cage. Wallace breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Wallace tries a head kick but it misses.
Wallace looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight. Marquez lands a left and a right that send Wallace crashing to the mat, dazed. Marquez thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like William Wallace has been cut. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Wallace shoots in looking for a takedown but Marquez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Wallace's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away. Wallace tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Marquez defends well and Wallace ends up having to push Marquez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for William Wallace. That's going to take a lot out of him. Wallace can't get the takedown.
Wallace slowing the pace effectively. Marquez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Marquez working hard to break the clinch. This is turning into a torrid day at the office for Wallace. He's trying desperately to land a takedown but he's failing miserably and getting slapped silly on the feet to compound his misery. Wallace digs a right hand into Marquez's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Marquez's gas tank. The referee is keeping an eye on Wallace - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Wallace manages to pull guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Marquez is looking to stand up but Wallace won't let him. Wallace wants to sweep here but Marquez controlling him for the moment. Wallace trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Marquez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Wallace tries to land a sweep but no joy. Wallace pulls Marquez in to control the position. Wallace looking to hit a scissor sweep but Marquez is one step ahead there. Wallace is adopting a defensive guard.
Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Marquez leaves Wallace with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Wallace gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Marquez tries to keep at a distance but Wallace has taken the fight into the clinch. Wallace breaks from the clinch.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Marquez with a body punch. A glancing blow. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Marquez gets tackled into the cage by Wallace. Wallace maintains the clinch. Marquez has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Wallace blocking some punches.
Marquez is trying to break free. Wallace manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Wallace wants to sweep but no luck. Wallace is pulling down on Marquez's head. It's preventing any offense from Marquez, at least for the moment. Wallace tries to land a sweep but no joy. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Wallace trying to control the position here. Wallace pushes Marquez off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Wallace on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Marquez bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Wallace's head. Marquez lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Wallace is defended easily by Marquez. Wallace clinches with his opponent.
Wallace has Marquez pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Marquez manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Wallace manages to pull guard.
Wallace escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Marquez gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Wallace is breathing heavily. Wallace has Marquez pulled in close to control his posture. Wallace is trying to control the position but Marquez postures up.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Wallace pulls Marquez in close to prevent any damage. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Marquez would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Wallace wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
William Wallace has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. Marquez stuffs the takedown. Marquez lands a body shot.
Wallace walks into a left hand.
William Wallace's cut is getting worse. Marquez stuns Wallace with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Marquez lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Wallace backs up against the cage.
Wallace shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Marquez pinned against the cage. Marquez gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Marquez fails to land with a series of punches.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Paco Angel Marquez dominated that round. The cut man is working on William Wallace's cut. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Marquez sizes up Wallace with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Marquez scores with a shot to the body.
Paco Angel Marquez seems to be getting the better of the standup. Wallace moves into the clinch. Wallace pulls guard. Wallace scrambles and gets back to his feet.
Marquez misses with the combination.
Nice straight punches there by Marquez. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Marquez. Paco Angel Marquez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Marquez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Marquez scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Wallace will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. A decent looking cross lands there for Marquez.
Wallace is rocked! Marquez fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Oh Wallace is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!! Marquez connects with a good straight punch right through the guard and follows up with a right hook and a left hook! That last one sent Wallace tumbling to the canvas! Marquez pours on the pressure with more strikes and the referee has no hesitation diving in to stop the fight! Wallace was done - good stoppage!
