Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Howard Holowitz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brahma Cervejinha (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Cervejinha is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Beer! by Psychostick. Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Paulo Santos and Mauricio Rocha.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cervejinha pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cervejinha is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Cervejinha misses with a head kick.
Cervejinha tries a low kick but Holowitz avoids it.
A bone on bone clash there as Holowitz blocks the leg kick.
Brahma Cervejinha seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Holowitz keeping at a good range here, avoiding a leg kick.

Holowitz blocks a low kick nicely.
Cervejinha pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Cervejinha has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Cervejinha tries to close the distance and clinch but Holowitz swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Holowitz goes for a takedown attempt but Cervejinha pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Holowitz fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Cervejinha sprawls well initially but Holowitz persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Holowitz works his foot free and advances to mount.
Holowitz goes for an armbar but Cervejinha turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Cervejinha.
Cervejinha wanted to stand there but Holowitz had control of the position.
Holowitz had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Cervejinha defends it easily.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Holowitz is on top in guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holowitz drops back, looking for a kneebar! Cervejinha looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Cervejinha looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Cervejinha!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cervejinha wants to control but Holowitz is keeping him busy.
Holowitz is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Cervejinha off and has taken his back!
Holowitz has his opponent's back and is working for the choke.
Holowitz is not going to allow Cervejinha to sit and survive in this position.
Holowitz is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Holowitz is looking to finish the fight by rear naked choke. Cervejinha knows exactly what he's got planned though, so he's defending well. Maybe a few strikes would soften Cervejinha for a finish.

Holowitz is looking for a choke. Cervejinha gets to his feet with his opponent on his back and slams him to the mat. Cervejinha manages to squirm out of the attempted choke and turns into his opponent's guard.
Holowitz working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Cervejinha doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Cervejinha manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Holowitz looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Cervejinha has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Holowitz is proving hard to escape from.

Holowitz has his foot on Cervejinha's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cervejinha works his way back into a safe position though.

Cervejinha got a little sloppy there for a moment and Holowitz has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Cervejinha has managed to get both his arms back between Holowitz's legs - danger averted.
Holowitz is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Cervejinha has his hands clasped together but Holowitz extends and breaks Cervejinha's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Holowitz.
