The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Thompson scores with a takedown into Keith's guard.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Thompson engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thompson would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Keith might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Thompson drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Keith manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Thompson has Keith in his guard.

Thompson pushes Keith off and gets back to his feet.
Thompson tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Keith manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Thompson doesn't manage to clinch there - Keith circles away.

A looping hook to the body misses from Thompson. Keith does a little dance to reset his feet.

Thompson feints and as Keith raises his hands in defense, Thompson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Thompson lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Thompson must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

Keith really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Thompson wants to stand but Keith has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
