Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Wallace Walker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Quinton Johnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Quinton Johnes!
The judges for this bout are Edson Gomes, Seu Braga and Emerson Jorge.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
An inside leg kick from Johnes misses.
Walker scores with a nice right hand.
Johnes avoids the head kick by Walker.
Walker stuffs the takedown.
Johnes is looking to clinch.
Walker throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Walker connects with a solid leg kick.
Walker throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Walker tries to bum rush Johnes with a series of wild strikes but Johnes uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Johnes cracks Walker with an uppercut from hell and Walker crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Johnes's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


It looks like Wallace Walker has been cut.
Johnes throwing strikes from guard but Walker blocks nicely.
Walker avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Johnes stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Walker swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Johnes is sitting in guard, working some ground and pound.

Johnes trying to control the position from guard on top but Walker is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Johnes is looking to advance position but Walker has hit a scissor sweep - now he's on top in mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Johnes tries to hold on but Walker postures up.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Johnes is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Walker avoids the attempt from Johnes to control.
Johnes gets back to half guard.
Johnes is looking for a sweep. Walker is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Johnes looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.

Johnes wants to get back to full guard.
Johnes trying to control but Walker postures up.
Johnes tries to get to full guard but Walker has control of the leg.
Walker could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Walker moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Johnes.
Johnes is trying to get back to half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Walker tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Johnes counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Johnes fails with an attempt to clinch.
Walker throws a head kick that misses
and Johnes counters with a two punch combo.
Walker misses with the combination.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Quinton Johnes dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Wallace Walker's cut.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Johnes shoots in for a takedown but Walker shows good takedown defense.
Walker throws a head kick that misses.

Johnes clinches with his opponent.
Johnes tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Walker just stands there and leans against the cage.

Johnes jumps into guard, dragging Walker to the mat.

Walker decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Johnes, up you get!
Wallace Walker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fight stays on the outside here - Johnes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Walker doesn't manage to clinch there - Johnes circles away.
Walker lands with a kick to the temple. Johnes shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Johnes looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Walker is fending him off so far but Johnes persists. Nope, Walker circles away and we're back to standing.
Wallace Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Johnes.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Walker throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Johnes's head.
Walker rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Johnes moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Walker looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.
Johnes throws a leg kick but Walker checks it.
Walker throws a right and a left that Johnes avoids nicely.

Walker misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Johnes.
Walker looking for a takedown.

Johnes has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Walker uses from the top position.
Johnes controls Walker momentarily but Walker frees himself.

Johnes wants to sweep here but Walker controlling him for the moment.
Walker might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Johnes keeping moving, preventing Walker from controlling successfully.
Johnes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Walker!

Johnes unloads with some shots from mount but Walker bucks and avoids them well.

Walker wants to hold on but Johnes pushes him away.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Johnes can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Walker is looking to escape.

Quinton Johnes showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!

Quinton Johnes seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Walker throws a looping overhand right but Johnes ducks down to avoid it.

Johnes avoids the head kick by Walker.
Johnes moves out of range as Walker throws a body kick.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Johnes, as that shot connected.
Johnes closes the distance and clinches up with Walker, looking for a takedown. Johnes pushes Walker against the cage but Walker circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Wallace Walker has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Quinton Johnes.
Johnes will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
A slapping leg kick lands for Walker.

Johnes gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Johnes lands a left hand.

Johnes breaks the clinch.
Walker throws a head kick that connects with a bit of head and a bit of hand.
Johnes throws a two punch combo that lands nicely.
Walker moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Walker misses with a head kick.
Johnes is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range.
Johnes shoots in for a double leg but Walker sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

The fight stays on the outside here - Johnes looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Walker moves into range and lands a nice leg kick.
Johnes lands a nice looking body shot.
Wallace Walker seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Walker circles away from the clinch attempt.

Johnes escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walker throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Walker shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnes pinned against the cage. Johnes gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Johnes has closed the distance and engaged Walker in a clinch.

Johnes escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Walker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnes lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Walker!

Johnes swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Walker is now in Johnes's guard. A big mistake from Johnes there, giving up the dominant position!
Wallace Walker has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Johnes is actively looking for submissions from his back. He's worked himself a little space on the bottom and seems to be going for a triangle. No, he's switched into an armbar! That was slick! Walker rolls with it to try and escape but Johnes cranks on the arm and Walker is forced to tap out! This one is aaaaaaaaall over!
