Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Gracie (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Daniel Hazlehurst (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Gracie might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to 50 Cent - In Da Club. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 18 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bruce Gracie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Daniel Hazlehurst!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Tiny Johnson and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gracie blocks the body kick.
Hazlehurst throws a looping overhand right but Gracie ducks down to avoid it.
Gracie takes a jab right on the kisser.
Gracie will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Gracie shoots in for a takedown but Hazlehurst shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Hazlehurst throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Hazlehurst slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Hazlehurst has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Sloppy strikes from Hazlehurst. Those never looked like landing.
Hazlehurst's corner calls for a 1-2. Hazlehurst obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Gracie looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Hazlehurst is fending him off so far but Gracie persists. Nope, Hazlehurst circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Bruce Gracie. That's going to take a lot out of him.

The crowd cheers as Hazlehurst lands an impressive looking overhand right. Gracie doesn't seem phased though.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Gracie throws a hook but Hazlehurst avoids it easily.

Gracie has been working on his balance at Hand 2 Hand Combat $50 !!!, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hazlehurst.
Hazlehurst thuds his right hand into Gracie's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Gracie closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Gracie lands in his opponent's guard.

Gracie wants to control from the top but Hazlehurst keeps moving.

Gracie thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Hazlehurst makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hazlehurst.

Gracie works to advance to full mount. Hazlehurst defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hazlehurst is in all sorts of trouble here.

Hazlehurst defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Gracie.

Gracie wants to finish this one by submission but Hazlehurst is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Gracie.

Hazlehurst bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Gracie is looking for a triangle but Hazlehurst pushes his legs off easily.
Hazlehurst really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gracie. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gracie is staying active underneath Hazlehurst, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hazlehurst seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Well, if Hazlehurst is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Hazlehurst seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hazlehurst seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Gracie does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hazlehurst throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Hazlehurst stuffs the takedown attempt from Gracie. Gracie gets slowly back to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

and Hazlehurst counters with a stiff right hand.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Hazlehurst lands with an uppercut that bounces Gracie off the cage and back into range.

Hazlehurst throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Gracie on the side of the head.
Daniel Hazlehurst seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Gracie moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.

Gracie looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Gracie moves out of range of the body kick from Hazlehurst.
Daniel Hazlehurst seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Gracie shoots and misses
and Hazlehurst counters with a left to the body.
Hazlehurst lands a slapping body shot.
Hazlehurst lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Gracie at a distance.
Hazlehurst throws a right and a left that Gracie avoids nicely.
A punch lands to the side of Gracie 's head but he takes it in his stride.
A shot to the liver by Hazlehurst. Beautiful body shot.
Gracie moves out of range of the strikes.
Hazlehurst ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Gracie moves away.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hazlehurst stalks Gracie and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Gracie's face. Gracie staggers backwards, shaken.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Daniel Hazlehurst showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!


Hazlehurst lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Oh Gracie is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Hazlehurst lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Hazlehurst smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Hazlehurst connects with a body shot that sends Gracie's belly button to the back.
Gracie closes the distance and clinches up with Hazlehurst, looking for a takedown. Gracie pushes Hazlehurst against the cage but Hazlehurst circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Hazlehurst counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Hazlehurst changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Gracie seems to have got his legs back now.
Gracie checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Gracie slips a jab from Hazlehurst.
Gracie takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Hazlehurst scores with a straight right hand, right through his opponent's guard.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Gracie shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Hazlehurst napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hazlehurst is looking to reverse the position.
Hazlehurst wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!
Hazlehurst is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

Gracie is working for what looks like an arm triangle here. Hazlehurst is trying to escape and Gracie transitions quickly into an armbar! He's slapped it on tight and Hazlehurst is forced to tap! Nice work there by Gracie! Very nice indeed!
