With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Galahad Threepwood!
The judges for this bout are Hugh Johnson, Steve Erwin and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith avoids the body shot from Threepwood.
Jab by Smith.
Smith uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Threepwood.
Smith misses with a wild body shot.
Smith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Threepwood has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
Threepwood keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Threepwood clobbers Smith with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Smith slips a jab from Threepwood.
Smith's jab looks to have found its range, popping Threepwood under the eye.
Threepwood darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Nice defenses there by Smith.
Threepwood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
Smith definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

Alan Smith seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Threepwood can do anything to dispel that myth.

Threepwood is adopting a defensive guard.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Galahad Threepwood hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Threepwood thows a body shot but no joy.
Smith scores with a sloppy right hand. Threepwood should have avoided that one.
Threepwood scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!


It looks like Alan Smith has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Smith misses with a straight right.
Smith rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Threepwood moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Threepwood misses with an uppercut. Smith saw that one coming.
Threepwood uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Smith.
A combination from Threepwood does no damage.

Threepwood throws a poor cross that misses
and Smith counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Smith misses with a double jab.
Smith swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Threepwood misses the body punch

and Smith counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Smith wants to pass the guard but Threepwood is keeping the position.
Smith is working hard here to advance position.
Smith has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Threepwood is trying to keep Smith in close.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Threepwood pulls Smith in close to prevent any damage.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Smith is fighting to break Threepwood's control of his arms but Threepwood is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Galahad Threepwood wasn't active enough on the ground.
Threepwood stalks Smith and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Smith's face. Smith staggers backwards, shaken.
Smith punishes Threepwood's body with a nice straight punch.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Threepwood manages to avoid it.
A swing and a miss from Threepwood.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Smith defending well as Threepwood loads up on a big left hand.
Smith bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Smith throws a hook but Threepwood blocks it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alan Smith dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Alan Smith's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Threepwood gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
A shot to the body from Smith misses
and Threepwood counters with a straight that turns Smith's legs to rubber! Threepwood pushes forward with more strikes and Smith goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
