Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Lauren Pickett!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Joseph Pimentel!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, Alec Ball and Ian Loll.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pickett tries to close the distance and clinch up but Pimentel swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Pickett tries to keep at a distance but Pimentel has taken the fight into the clinch.
Pimentel misses with a knee to the head.
Pimentel wants the takedown. Pickett is fighting it off but Pimentel persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Pickett's guard against the cage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Pimentel wants to control from the top but Pickett keeps moving.
Pimentel has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Pickett to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Pimentel is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Pickett pulls down on the head and he's put Pimentel to sleep! This one is all over!
