Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between John Fuller (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Moy Mendez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mendez has chosen Eye Of The Tiger - Survivor as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Moy Mendez has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with John Fuller's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, John Fuller!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Moy Mendez!
The judges for this bout are Trevor Gratis, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Fuller misses with a few strikes there.

Fuller changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mendez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Mendez defending against the ground and pound.
Fuller tries to score with some ground and pound. Mendez controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Fuller postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Mendez tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Mendez is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Fuller is looking to get to half guard.
Fuller is breathing heavily.

Fuller tries to lock up and control but Mendez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Fuller is trying to reverse the position but instead Mendez has taken his back - oops!
Mendez lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Fuller.
Fuller turns into Mendez and is now in his guard.
Mendez manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Mendez has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Fuller's face.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


A combination from Fuller does no damage.

Fuller fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Mendez sprawls well initially but Fuller persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Fuller drops an elbow to the side of Mendez's head.
Mendez is trying to control but can't.
Mendez is looking for a sweep. Fuller is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Mendez wants to control but Fuller is keeping busy.

Mendez is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Fuller pulls his head out easily.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mendez controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Fuller throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.
Mendez tries to free his leg and advance position but Fuller is retaining full guard.
Fuller wants to stand up but Mendez is controlling him.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Mendez doesn't manage to clinch there - Fuller circles away.
Fuller misses with a two punch combination.
Mendez has a takedown stuffed.
Fuller lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Mendez backs up against the ropes.

Mendez shoots in and bounces Fuller off the ropes to secure the takedown into guard.

Mendez is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, Fuller has managed to free his arm - good work.
Fuller has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Mendez is working away from the top position though.

Fuller shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Mendez's guard.
