Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between James Coles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gimly McGimly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Coles's entrance music is Walk like a Champion. A fine choice. I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, James Coles! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Gimly McGimly! The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Steve Smith and Trevor Gratis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McGimly is looking to clinch but Coles is avoiding it.
McGimly tries to clinch up but Coles circles away and keeps his distance. A head kick misses from McGimly. Wow, both these guys are really going for it! McGimly misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
McGimly fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Coles manages to avoid it. McGimly lands a with a good body shot. McGimly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Coles misses with a takedown attempt - McGimly sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. McGimly misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Coles.

Coles is breathing heavily. Coles tries to clinch there but McGimly circles away.
Coles looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Coles takes a body punch but keeps moving. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. McGimly misses with a wild combination.
McGimly goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo. McGimly lands a right hook to the body.
McGimly scores with a one two! Coles had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round. McGimly tries to clinch but fails miserably and Coles counters with a head kick. McGimly tries to clinch but Coles moves out of range. McGimly tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. McGimly is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Coles rather than just go for the knockout. McGimly scores to the head and body with a nice combination!
It looks like James Coles has been cut. McGimly wants to clinch up but Coles keeps it at a distance. McGimly drops Coles with a right and a left! McGimly comes rushing in but Coles regains his composure and manages to keep McGimly in guard.
Coles is rocked! McGimly makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. McGimly working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Coles's head. McGimly trying to control the position from guard on top but Coles is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McGimly trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. McGimly wants to control from the top but Coles keeps moving. McGimly might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Coles kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. McGimly with a flurry of punches that miss.
That's two minutes gone in the round. McGimly decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Coles, up you get! This has been an exciting period of action! McGimly moves into range and clinches up with Coles. Coles tries to pull guard but McGimly holds him up against the ropes and eventually Coles drops back down to his feet.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for James Coles. That's going to take a lot out of him. McGimly wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee. Coles prevents the takedown attempt.
McGimly pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Coles misses with a looping right. Coles swats away the attempt to clinch by McGimly. McGimly is working the combinations to good effect here. McGimly swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Coles takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. McGimly pushes Coles up against the ropes in a clinch. McGimly can't get the takedown.
McGimly works on Coles's body with a couple of short punches. Coles is looking to break free of the clinch but McGimly has double underhooks.

Coles escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

McGimly turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and McGimly manages to end up in side control. McGimly cracks Coles with an elbow. That is naaassty. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. McGimly creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Coles sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's four minutes gone in the round. McGimly sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Coles is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
McGimly trying to control the action but Coles is working from the bottom. Coles manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! McGimly tries to roll over but Coles keeps him under control. Coles stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being. McGimly tries to clinch up but Coles circles away and keeps his distance. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! McGimly tries to clinch but Coles moves out of range. Coles closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Coles lands in his opponent's guard. Coles has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Coles preventing the sweep. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gimly McGimly dominated that round. The cut man is working on James Coles's cut. That's time! Back to the action!

McGimly throws a sloppy head kick and Coles moves out of range easily. Coles checks a leg kick. McGimly shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. BOOM! McGimly connects with a massive shot to the dome!
McGimly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Coles in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Coles is in all sorts of trouble here.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. McGimly has his opponent pinned against the ropes, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Coles's face.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fight is doing enough on the ground. Coles wants to clinch up but McGimly keeps it at a distance.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGimly rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Coles moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Coles gets in close and instigates a clinch. Coles tries to score a body lock takedown but McGimly shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Coles tries for a takedown. No joy.
McGimly breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. McGimly misses with a two punch combination.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Coles. McGimly trying to control but Coles flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! McGimly defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
Coles lands a punch that was close to the back of the head but the ref thinks it's OK. McGimly breaks Coles's hooks off and manages to turn into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Coles keeping moving, preventing McGimly from controlling successfully. Coles lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for McGimly! McGimly is trying desperately to improve position. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Coles lands a nice shot to the head. Coles is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But McGimly has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from McGimly! Gimly McGimly has got the better of the ground game so far. McGimly looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Gimly McGimly showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The cut man is working on James Coles's cut. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

McGimly tries to lock up and control but Coles gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. McGimly tries to improve his position but instead Coles has taken his back! Coles is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. McGimly defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined. McGimly covering up well and avoiding damage. Coles is not going to allow McGimly to sit and survive in this position. McGimly is covering up but some of the strikes from Coles are getting through and doing damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. McGimly is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.
Coles is trying to stick to McGimly's back but McGimly is turning into Coles. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Coles's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by McGimly. McGimly working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. McGimly chips away with some ground and pound. Coles throws his legs up looking for a submission but McGimly uses it to pass to side control.
Coles is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Coles tries to improve position but can't. Coles is not content to let McGimly control the position. McGimly lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face.
That's three minutes gone in the round. McGimly landing a few strikes. McGimly lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Coles down.
McGimly tries to score with some ground and pound. Coles controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage. McGimly cracks Coles with a big elbow.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Coles shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts McGimly as he jumps to the side. Gimly McGimly seems to be getting the better of the standup. McGimly with a lazy takedown attempt and Coles counters by moving into the clinch. Coles has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. McGimly avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch. Coles gets a trip takedown into half guard. Coles is trying to work for a kimura. He's got his hands clasped together - this could be trouble! No, McGimly has managed to free his arm - good work. McGimly missing with punches from the bottom.

That's four minutes gone in the round. McGimly looking to hit a scissor sweep but Coles is one step ahead there. James Coles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Coles forces his way into half guard. Coles prevents McGimly from improving his position. McGimly is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. McGimly trying to control from the bottom.
