Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Hank Tank! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Long! The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Long looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Tank! Long connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Long controlling from the full mount. Long with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Long wants to finish this one by submission but Tank is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Long. Tank wants to hold on but Long pushes him away. Tank working to try and regain half guard.
Long working for a submission but Tank is keeping him at bay. Tank slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Tank wants to improve his position but Long is controlling well.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Long has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Long tries to control but Tank wriggling away. Tank is desperately trying to improve his position but Long has a good base and remains in mount. Long looking to finish with strikes here!
Long looking to secure an arm triangle but Tank defends it well. Long is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Tank has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Tank! The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Long looks gassed!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Long throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
Long working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tank. Long looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Tank slips nicely into half guard. Tank wants to lay and pray for a moment but Long keeps working. Tank trying to pass the guard but Long defending well. Long is looking for a sweep. Tank is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Long slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Long bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Tank's guard. Long trying to control the position from guard on top but Tank is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Tank looking for a guillotine here but Long defends easily.
Long controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Tank can't keep his opponent in guard - Long advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. Tank looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Long is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Tank!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Long throwing shots from mount but they're not landing. Tank defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Long. Long has control of Tank's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Tank regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Long throwing strikes here but Tank is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.
Long controlling his opponent. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Long looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Brett Long dominated that round. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!
Tank doesn't succeed with the takedown and Long counters with a single leg into guard. Tank didn't expect that. Tank is trying to keep Long in close.
Long pushing down on Tank's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Long in particular looking to stall. Long is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount! Tank defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Long. This has been an exciting period of action! Long connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Tank has given up his back. Will we see Long going for some submissions?
Long sinks in the hooks and is looking for the choke. He's got it! Tank taps out!
