Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Michal Velasquez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and AJ Pasion (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pasion gets a double leg takedown into Velasquez's guard.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Velasquez wants to get back to his feet but Pasion is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Pasion looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Pasion wants to pass to mount but Velasquez is defending the position.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Pasion connects with a nice short shot to Velasquez's temple.

Velasquez is trying to stand up here but Pasion is controlling him well.
Pasion looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Velasquez with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Pasion takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

Pasion is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Velasquez has escaped the position, nice work there.
Pasion is staying tight to Velasquez's torso, preventing him from escaping.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Velasquez takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Pasion scores with a couple of nice shots to the head there. The referee takes a look at Velasquez to see if he's OK.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.
Let's hope that Pasion has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Pasion changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Velasquez looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Velasquez is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Pasion asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Pasion lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Velasquez down.

Pasion lands a big shot there that rocks Velasquez but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Oh Velasquez is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Whack. That's a big, big shot from Pasion! Velasquez is out cold! This one is all over!

A relieved looking AJ Pasion thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
