Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Frankie Edgar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Hardin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Hardin will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Frankie Edgar! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 21 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mike Hardin! The judges for this bout are George Francis, Robert Twigg and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Hardin fails with an attempt to clinch.
Edgar keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Edgar bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Edgar slips into full mount, dodging the strikes by Hardin. Edgar controlling the pace for now. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Edgar lands a couple of good shots and Hardin has given up his back, trying to escape the position! Edgar is working hard for the rear naked choke here.
Hardin is really stuck here.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hardin is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
We're going to have a standup here because Frankie Edgar wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Edgar feints and as Hardin raises his hands in defense, Edgar changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Edgar forces his way into half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hardin wants to get back to full guard but Edgar has mounted him! Edgar lands a big shot there that rocks Hardin but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Edgar scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Hardin?

Hardin blocking the ground and pound. Edgar content just to control the position here. Hardin is looking to get to half guard. Edgar lands a nice shot to the head.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar controlling from the full mount. Hardin taking shots to the head. Edgar looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup. Hardin working to try and regain half guard.
Edgar landing strikes from the mount and Hardin is in trouble! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hardin is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Edgar with good strikes from the mount here! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Edgar dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Edgar closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hardin to the mat! Hardin manages to get full guard. Edgar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Edgar controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Edgar has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Frankie Edgar wasn't doing enough on the ground. Hardin gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Edgar trying to move into half guard but instead Hardin has managed to sweep!

Hardin fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Edgar avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Edgar looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Edgar loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Hardin can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Edgar controls the pace. Edgar would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hardin working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Edgar doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Edgar manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Edgar controls the pace of the fight for a moment. Edgar working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Hardin's head. Edgar has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Hardin wants to hit a switch here but Edgar passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Hardin there! Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Edgar controlling his opponent. Hardin tries to hold on but Edgar pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hardin taking shots to the head. Edgar with good strikes from the mount here! Edgar controlling from mount. The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Edgar cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Hardin tries to hold on but Edgar postures up. Hardin is working to get back to half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar landing punches. Edgar has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Hardin's face.
Edgar is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Hardin can do to turn this around? Hardin is looking to improve his position but Edgar isn't that keen on the idea. Edgar controlling the pace for now. Hardin wants to control but Edgar is having none of it. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Edgar tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frankie Edgar dominated that second round. That's time! Edgar's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Hardin tries to score a power double leg takedown but Edgar sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Hardin somewhat. Excellent takedown into side control there by Edgar. Edgar lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Hardin manages to get one leg in to regain half guard. Edgar decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Hardin fails with the takedown. Edgar takes a body punch but keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hardin tries to clinch up and Edgar counters with a left and a right that stings Hardin. Edgar shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Edgar gets to his feet - Hardin follows without any prompting. Edgar changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hardin looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Edgar scoring with punches from side control. Frankie Edgar overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Edgar goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Hardin has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Edgar but great work by Hardin. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This has been an exciting period of action! Edgar is looking for a sweep. Edgar trying his best to control but Hardin has mounted him. Hardin goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Edgar turns into him and now he's in Hardin's guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Edgar wants to pass the guard but Hardin is keeping the position. Hardin is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Edgar is controlling him. Edgar's corner is telling him to maintain position. Edgar works a leg free and moves into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Edgar wants to stand but his hand is trapped. Hardin uses the opportunity to regain full guard. Edgar controlling from the top position. Hardin scores with a short punch from the bottom. Edgar is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Edgar advances position into side control! Edgar cracks Hardin with an elbow. That is naaassty.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Edgar takes a little break here. Hardin wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well. Edgar trying to control the action but Hardin is working from the bottom. Edgar looking to punish the body of his opponent here but Hardin is avoiding damage well.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Edgar remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Edgar working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
And that's the end of the fight! Frankie Edgar showed his dominance in that final round. Well Edgar has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
