Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between DeAngelo Suggs (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Valko Dragov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dragov has chosen Go to Sleep - Eminem, Obie Trice, & DMX as his entrance music. DeAngelo Suggs has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, DeAngelo Suggs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Valko Dragov!
The judges for this bout are Gregory Folan, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Good work by Dragov as he checks the leg kick.
Suggs avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Dragov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Suggs avoids it really well and circles away.

Dragov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Dragov drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Suggs dives on top into guard.
Suggs looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Dragov has his foot on Suggs's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Suggs works his way back into a safe position though.
Suggs pushes down on Dragov's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Dragov wants to get back to full guard.

Suggs is taking a breather. Dragov says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Suggs is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Suggs is looking to take a break and control but Dragov is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Dragov is looking to improve his position.
Suggs has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Dragov is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Suggs in particular looking to stall.
Dragov wants to improve his position but Suggs is controlling well.

Suggs controlling the pace.

We're going to have a standup here because DeAngelo Suggs wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
A big right from Suggs misses.

Dragov cracks a nice hook into Suggs's ribs.
A looping hook to the body misses from Dragov. Suggs does a little dance to reset his feet.
Dragov is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Suggs.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dragov steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Suggs.

Suggs gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Dragov to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Dragov trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Suggs wants to sweep here but Dragov controlling him for the moment.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Dragov working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.
Suggs working a defensive guard but Dragov manages to pass into side control anyway.
Dragov advances to mount.

Dragov is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Suggs has managed to escape the submission attempt.

Dragov wants to finish this one by submission but Suggs is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Dragov.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dragov unloads with some shots from mount but Suggs bucks and avoids them well.
Suggs is in a horrible position here. Dragov smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Suggs is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.
Suggs is desperately trying to improve his position but Dragov has a good base and remains in mount.
Dragov working away from the top, dropping strikes.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dragov lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Suggs wants to control but Dragov is having none of it.
Dragov lands a nice shot to the head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Valko Dragov dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


A nice leg kick lands there from Suggs.
Dragov throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Dragov shoots for a double leg takedown but Suggs sprawls well. He's pushed Dragov's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Dragov tries to clinch but Suggs is having none of it.
Suggs keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Suggs missing with a left hand there. Dragov was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Dragov on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Dragov on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Suggs takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Horrible takedown by Dragov or perhaps it was just good defense by Suggs which made him look bad.
Dragov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Suggs pinned against the cage. Suggs gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
DeAngelo Suggs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Valko Dragov.
Suggs cracks Dragov with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Dragov displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Suggs throws out the jab.
Suggs defending well as Dragov loads up on a big left hand.

Suggs cracks Dragov with a big right hand that sends him crashing to the floor. Suggs has the opportunity to follow him to the ground but instead he's beckoning Dragov to stand back up!


Dragov is rocked!
Suggs is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Dragov goes for a double leg but Suggs avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Suggs continues to drive forward.
Dragov is still on wobbly legs! Can Suggs finish him?

Suggs breaks the clinch.
Suggs lands a leg kick that knocks Dragov off balance momentarily.
Suggs stuffs the takedown attempt from Dragov. Dragov gets slowly back to his feet.
Dragov is breathing heavily.
Dragov misses with a left hand
and Suggs counters with a huge overhand right that connects right on the temple, sending him crumpling, face first to the floor! This one is all over! What a knockout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:28 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). DeAngelo Suggs!
