PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Dominic Morgan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Felix Angelisto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morgan comes to the cage accompanied by Hollywood Undead - Undead. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dominic Morgan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Felix Angelisto!
The judges for this bout are Winston Alpacca, Peter Branson and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morgan has a takedown stuffed.
Morgan goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Angelisto paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Morgan tries to bum rush Angelisto with a series of wild strikes but Angelisto uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Morgan looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Angelisto is fending him off so far but Morgan persists. Nope, Angelisto circles away and we're back to standing.

Morgan gets a takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morgan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Angelisto sees it coming and defends easily.
Angelisto gets full guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Morgan has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Angelisto trying to keep a closed guard but Morgan is proving a slippery customer.

Dominic Morgan has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet.
Morgan goes for a double leg but Angelisto avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Angelisto continues to drive forward.

Morgan breaks the clinch.

Morgan decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Angelisto is staying active underneath Morgan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Morgan is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Angelisto sees it coming and defends easily.
Angelisto wants to get back to full guard.
Morgan drops an elbow to the side of Angelisto's head.
Morgan wants to pass the guard but Angelisto is defending well.

Morgan looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Angelisto is staying active underneath Morgan, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Morgan throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Morgan missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Morgan seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Angelisto does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Morgan is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Angelisto keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Morgan throwing shots but Angelisto is blocking nicely.
Angelisto wants to get back to full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Morgan trying to mount his opponent but Angelisto defends it.
Morgan looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Angelisto with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Morgan shoots in for a takedown but Angelisto shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Angelisto tries to close the distance and clinch but Morgan swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Angelisto moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Morgan misses with a wild body shot.

Morgan feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Morgan postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Morgan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Morgan lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Morgan is working Angelisto over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Morgan looking to sit in guard and control but Angelisto gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.
Morgan wants to sweep but no luck.

Morgan is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Angelisto is aware though and is defending well.
Morgan thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Angelisto decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Morgan, up you get!

It looks like Felix Angelisto has been cut.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Morgan dives in and grabs Angelisto's left leg, looking for a takedown. Angelisto pushes down on Morgan's head and hops out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Morgan tries to close the distance and clinch but Angelisto swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Morgan throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Angelisto's waist but Angelisto gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Morgan off to one side.

Angelisto lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Morgan circles away quickly and effectively.

Morgan closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Morgan thows a huge punch but Angelisto dodges it nicely.
Dominic Morgan overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Angelisto tries to roll over but Morgan keeps him under control.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Angelisto is looking to clinch but Morgan is avoiding it.
Angelisto throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Morgan.
Dominic Morgan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Angelisto misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Angelisto fails to land with a series of punches.
Morgan closes this distance looking for a takedown but Angelisto circles away.
Morgan looks to land a right hand but Angelisto moved out of range.

and Angelisto counters with a nice low kick that buckles Morgan's knee momentarily.
Angelisto throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Morgan is looking to clinch.
Dominic Morgan is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Angelisto dodges the punch combination from Morgan.
Felix Angelisto is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Morgan showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Angelisto.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

I think Morgan has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
