Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Richard Renninger! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 4 - 1, fighting out of New York, Macros Motaro! The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Igor Prikhodko and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Motaro with a body punch. A glancing blow. Motaro pushing out the jab but it's not landing. Renninger scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. Motaro throws a hook to the side of Renninger's head but Renninger sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. Renninger clinches up with Motaro and pushes him back against the cage. Motaro pushes Renninger back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Motaro blocking some punches.
Renninger misses with a short punch on the inside. A shot in the inside from Renninger. Motaro misses with a shot to the kidneys.

Motaro tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Renninger's elbow. Renninger lands a knee to the body.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Renninger tries to land knees in the clinch but Motaro avoids the damage to the body. A right hand to the body from Renninger.

That's one minute gone in the round. Renninger prevents a body shot from Motaro. Renninger working Motaro over with knees to the body. Motaro looks winded! Motaro tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked. The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows. Motaro managing to block the knees to the body from Renninger.
Renninger lands with a short shot to the head. Both guys are working to get underhooks. A short uppercut from Renninger. Renninger works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.
Renninger tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Our sources have told us that Renninger has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight. Renninger lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Motaro backwards. Renninger blocks a body shot from Motaro. Renninger is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Motaro to keep the fight standing. Motaro prevents Renninger from breaking the clinch. Renninger lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Motaro tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Renninger pulls guard successfully.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Renninger escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Motaro gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Renninger is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Motaro defends well. Renninger throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Motaro escapes and throws Renninger's legs to the side, diving into side control! Renninger is trying to control Motaro's posture but Motaro avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Renninger is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control. Renninger is trying to get back to half guard. Renninger is working hard here to advance position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Renninger is trying to work for a sweep but Motaro has mounted him! Renninger really trying hard to get back to half guard here.
Motaro looking to control but Renninger is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Renninger tries to reverse the position but Motaro maintains control. Motaro wants to control the pace but Renninger is squirming around nicely. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Renninger keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Richard Renninger dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Renninger connects with a nice looking jab.
Renninger takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Motaro takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Renninger blocks a head kick by Motaro.
Renninger lands with an overhand left. Motaro avoids the head kick by Renninger.
Richard Renninger seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Renninger throws a shot to the body.
Renninger comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Motaro throws a jab when Renninger was well out of range. Motaro throws a head kick but Renninger moves out of range.
Renninger takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Motaro checks a leg kick. Renninger throws a low kick but Motaro avoids it. Motaro throws a hook but Renninger avoids it easily.
That's one minute gone in the round. A shot to the liver by Motaro. Beautiful body shot. Motaro misses with a hook. Renninger ducked under it nicely. Motaro is really struggling to land any decent head shots against his taller opponent. Motaro sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Renninger scoring well with a low kick there.
Motaro walks into a stiff left hand from Renninger. Renninger throws a wild combination but nothing lands. Renninger takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Renninger scores with a jab to the head.
Renninger throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Motaro on the side of the head.
Motaro is rocked! Renninger misses with a straight right. Motaro is still on wobbly legs! Can Renninger finish him? Renninger misses with a hook. A jab from Renninger misses. Renninger has not gone for a single takedown so far in this fight, which seems like a very strange tactic when you consider that he has the superior wrestling and BJJ. A big right from Renninger misses. Renninger is using his reach advantage well here, landing the more effective single shots from range. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Motaro bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Renninger batters Motaro with a massive right followed by a huge left! Motaro is out on his feet looking like a zombie as Renninger lands a final crushing right hand to drop Motaro to the mat with a gruesome thud! Renninger is running around like a mad man after that fight and for good reason!
