Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Bryce Jefferson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Anthony Pettis!
The judges for this bout are Jorge Garcia, Eddie Farnsworth and Steve Montenegro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jefferson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Anthony Pettis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jefferson walks into a stiff left hand from Pettis.


It looks like Bryce Jefferson has been cut.

Pettis closes the distance and pushes Jefferson back into the cage.
Pettis tries to land knees in the clinch but Jefferson avoids the damage to the body.
Pettis is trying to break the clinch but Jefferson is controlling him.

Pettis jumps into guard, dragging Jefferson to the mat.
Jefferson works over Pettis with some ground and pound from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Pettis looking for submissions from the bottom but instead Jefferson passes into half guard.
Pettis is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Jefferson is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Jefferson postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Pettis to stand up.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Pettis closes the distance and clinches.
Pettis is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Pettis manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Jefferson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

Jefferson stands up from guard. Let's bang!

Pettis shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jefferson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Jefferson manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Jefferson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pettis pulls his head out easily.
Jefferson moves into full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jefferson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Pettis is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jefferson has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Pettis is looking to defend but Jefferson has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Pettis! Jefferson pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Pettis taps out and this one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:33 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Triangle). Bryce Jefferson!
