Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Woodhouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bruce Banner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bruce Banner has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mark Woodhouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Bruce Banner!
The judges for this bout are Matti Vanhoillinen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Banner fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mark Woodhouse seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Banner tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Woodhouse shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Banner pinned against the cage. Banner gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Woodhouse has his takedown stuffed

and Banner counters by moving into the clinch.
Woodhouse wants a takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Woodhouse. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Banner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Woodhouse clinches with his opponent.
Woodhouse tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

Banner has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Woodhouse regains guard immediately.
Woodhouse manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Banner is squirming around, avoiding Woodhouse's attempts to control the action.
Woodhouse throwing shots from mount but they're not landing.
Banner holding onto his opponent's waist for dear life, as Woodhouse tries to land some strikes to get him to release his grip.
Woodhouse will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Woodhouse thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Banner reaches up and holds on to Woodhouse to control the position.
Woodhouse misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Banner tries to lock up and control but Woodhouse gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Woodhouse swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Banner is now in Woodhouse's guard. A big mistake from Woodhouse there, giving up the dominant position!
Banner should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Woodhouse is trying to hold Banner in close to prevent damage but Banner has managed to pass into half guard.
Well, if Banner is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
Banner frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Banner putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!

Banner raining down hammerfists from mount.
This has been an exciting period of action!
You get the feeling that Woodhouse really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Banner can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Woodhouse is looking to escape.
Woodhouse tries to reverse the position but Banner maintains control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Banner in mount throwing good strikes here, bouncing his opponent's head off the canvas.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


A head kick misses from Woodhouse.
Banner throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Woodhouse pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Woodhouse fails with a takedown attempt.
Banner checks the leg kick nicely there.

Banner drives through with a takedown into Woodhouse's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Banner wants to control from the top but Woodhouse keeps moving.

Woodhouse working for a triangle but Banner defends it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Banner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Woodhouse works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Banner passes into half guard.
Banner wants to lay and pray for a moment but Woodhouse keeps working.
The fighters are battling for position here. Woodhouse manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Banner throwing strikes from guard but Woodhouse blocks nicely.

Banner drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Banner jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Woodhouse can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Banner controls the pace.
Banner stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Woodhouse swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Woodhouse not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Banner trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Banner cracks Woodhouse with a solid left hand.
Woodhouse wants to sweep here but Banner controlling him for the moment.
Woodhouse is trying to control the position but Banner postures up.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Mark Woodhouse wasn't doing enough on the ground.

Banner shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Woodhouse is trying to defend but Banner finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Banner looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Woodhouse is staying active underneath Banner, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
Woodhouse is trying to escape back to his feet but Banner uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Banner is looking to take a break and control but Woodhouse is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Woodhouse is working to avoid the ground and pound but Banner connects with a decent elbow.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Bruce Banner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

The ref stands the fighters back up. Bruce Banner was stalling too much, according to the referee.

and Banner counters with a nice double leg into guard.

Banner distracts Woodhouse with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Banner has eaten all the pies!

Bruce Banner has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Woodhouse tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Banner swivels and escapes.
Banner fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Woodhouse avoids it really well and circles away.

Woodhouse shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Banner but Banner pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Banner darts in looking for a takedown but Woodhouse gets double underhooks and turns Banner into the cage.
Banner gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Woodhouse.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Mark Woodhouse. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Woodhouse tries to pull guard but Banner forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Bruce Banner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Banner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
