The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Nurmagomedov fails with a takedown attempt. Stone looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight! Stone throws a combination that misses and Nurmagomedov counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Stone should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Nurmagomedov is figuring out what he wants to do next. Stone avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Nurmagomedov. Nurmagomedov throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage. Nurmagomedov is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Stone sees it coming and defends easily. Nurmagomedov wants to free his trapped foot but Stone is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Nurmagomedov is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Stone is just riding it out for now. Nurmagomedov eventually gives up the hold. Nurmagomedov controlling the action here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nurmagomedov drops an elbow to the side of Stone's head. Nurmagomedov is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Stone is staying active underneath Nurmagomedov, who seems content to just control the action from this position. Nurmagomedov is controlling the pace.

Stone has escaped and now he's on top! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Nurmagomedov is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Nurmagomedov looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Nurmagomedov working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that. Nurmagomedov dives in for a single leg takedown but Stone sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Stone is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Stone is trying to push Nurmagomedov away but Nurmagomedov has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. Nurmagomedov has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Stone regains guard immediately. Nurmagomedov is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Nurmagomedov drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Stone manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Nurmagomedov has Stone in his guard. Stone is breathing heavily.

He's now in Nurmagomedov's guard. Nice move by Stone! Nurmagomedov is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Nurmagomedov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Stone is aware though and is defending well. Nurmagomedov is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Stone avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Nurmagomedov drops back looking for a leg! Stone is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stone manages to kick Nurmagomedov off! Nurmagomedov jumps back into Stone's guard. Nurmagomedov has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Nurmagomedov stands and throws Stone's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Nurmagomedov bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Nurmagomedov will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Nurmagomedov thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nurmagomedov swings around for an armbar but Stone sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nurmagomedov's guard. Nurmagomedov looking for a guillotine here but Stone defends easily.

Stone wants to free his trapped foot but Nurmagomedov is holding on for dear life with his legs. Stone looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights. Nurmagomedov looking for submissions off his back. Nurmagomedov wants to control but Stone is keeping busy.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Nurmagomedov wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Stone, who protects the arm well.
And that's the end of the fight! Khabib Nurmagomedov showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nurmagomedov, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
