Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Dan Barret (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Carlos Knight (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Dan Barret! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Carlos Knight! The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, David Hoff and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Knight shoots in for a takedown but Barret shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Barret defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Knight. Barret misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knight.
Knight shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Knight looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Knight throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Knight makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Barret is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Knight is controlling him.
That's one minute gone in the round. Knight missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Knight is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. Knight not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Knight throwing strikes but missing. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Knight is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control. Barret knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Knight on the ground.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Carlos Knight wasn't active enough on the ground. Barret misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knight.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight takes a body punch but keeps moving. Knight closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Knight perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Knight is pressing down on Barret's thigh, looking to free his foot. Barret is holding on for now. Barret is looking to control Knight's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Barret avoid being mounted?
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Barret lands a jab-cross combination. Knight closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Barret did well to prevent Knight getting side control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Barret has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Knight is working away from the top position though. Barret tries to roll over but Knight keeps him under control. Knight thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Barret's head. Knight has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Barret keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Knight passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Barret! Knight landing punches.

Barret looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio. Knight lands a couple of nice shots there from mount.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Knight lands a big shot there that rocks Barret but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Barret is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
Barret is in a horrible position here. Knight smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.

Carlos Knight dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Barret looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Barret throws a series of punches but Knight moves out of range. A momentary lapse in concentration from Barret enables Knight to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Barret manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Knight stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Barret swivels though and keeps the full guard. Knight looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Knight working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Barret's head. Knight looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Knight's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

Knight seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Barret takes a swing at Knight's ribcage but misses. Knight manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Barret on his heels. He'll look to pass Barret's guard now, I'm sure. It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Knight looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Barret is fending him off so far but Knight persists. Nope, Barret circles away and we're back to standing. Barret tests Knight's chin there with a solid looking shot. Knight goes for a double leg but Barret avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Barret continues to drive forward. Dan Barret has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Knight. Knight goes for a takedown attempt but Barret pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Barret punishes Knight's body with a nice straight punch. Dan Barret is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Barret swings for the body but Knight moves out of range.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Knight is defended easily by Barret. No joy there for Barret, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Carlos Knight showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. And we move into the final round!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Barret misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Knight.

Barret lands a nice hook to Knight's body. Knight takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Knight closes this distance looking for a takedown but Barret circles away. Barret lands a nice shot to the body.
A jab from Barret finds it's way through Knight's defenses. Knight has a takedown stuffed. Knight takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Barret slaps away a takedown attempt from Knight, before circling back to the center of the mat. Knight dives in for a single leg takedown but Barret sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage. Barret is trying to stall.
Barret escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Carlos Knight is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Knight shoots in but no luck this time. A punch lands to the side of Knight 's head but he takes it in his stride. Knight tries for a takedown but Barret sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Horrible takedown by Knight or perhaps it was just good defense by Barret which made him look bad. A nice combination there by Barret.

Knight shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Barret pinned against the cage. Barret gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. No luck with that takedown attempt from Knight. Barret lands a nice hook to Knight's body. Knight takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes. Barret lands a nice looking body shot.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Knight takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Dan Barret. Knight is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Barret's half guard. Knight seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Knight prevents Barret from standing back up.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Barret showed his dominance in that final round. I think Knight has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
