Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 21 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Dodson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 17 - 1, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wet Hell!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dodson lands with a shot to the body.
Dodson swinging wildly here.
Dodson tries to clinch but Hell moves out of range.
Dodson throws a combination. Hell tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Dodson shoots in and bounces Hell off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Dodson wants to control from the top but Hell keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hell has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Dodson wants to control from the top but Hell keeps moving.
Dodson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hell is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

The ref stands the fighters back up. John Dodson wasn't doing enough on the ground.
Dodson punishes Hell's body with a nice straight punch.

Dodson looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Dodson wants to take a breather but Hell is having none of it.

Hell really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Dodson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Dodson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Hell has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Dodson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

Dodson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

and Hell counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hell.
A bit of stalling here from Hell.
Dodson tries to break the clinch but Hell is controlling the position.

Hell tries to work over Dodson's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.

Dodson is wriggling around but Hell manages to pass to half guard.

Dodson misses with some strikes from the bottom.

Dodson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hell pulls his head out easily.

Hell goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Dodson turns into him and now he's in Hell's guard.
Hell is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.

Dodson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
Dodson trying to control but Hell is working from the bottom.
Hell seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Dodson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Dodson lands in his opponent's guard.

We're going to have a standup here because John Dodson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Dodson looks for the body kick but Hell saw that one coming.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Hell uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Dodson.

Dodson blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Hell is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

A frustrated look appears on Dodson's face as he tries to break the clinch.

Dodson works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Dodson gets to his feet - Hell follows without any prompting.

Dodson postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Hell is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Dodson, into his guard.

Dodson is looking for a triangle but Hell pushes his legs off easily.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Dodson, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
