The judges for this bout are Patrick Alders, Paul Aken and Daniel Blasius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Diesel misses with a hook.
Diesel swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Santos.
Diesel misses with a head kick.
Santos throws a jab when Diesel was well out of range.
Santos misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Diesel stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Diesel wants it to stay on the feet.
Diesel throws a combination that misses
and Santos counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Diesel!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Santos misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
Santos wants to lay and pray for a moment but Diesel keeps working.

Diesel is looking for a sweep.
Santos throwing strikes but missing, from side control.
Diesel avoids any damage from the ground and pound of Santos.

Diesel is trying to improve his position.
You can see the frustration on Diesel's face as Santos controls the position.
Santos is looking to take a break and control but Diesel is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Santos has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Santos is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Diesel looks calm but he's in trouble here. Santos gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Diesel is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Santos lets go of the hold and Diesel can pop his arm back in it's socket.
