And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Eliza Hachem.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Daniels shoots and misses
and Ferdinand counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Ferdinand.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
Daniels is trying to keep Ferdinand in close.
Ferdinand pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Daniels is keeping the position for now.
Daniels working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Ferdinand doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Ferdinand manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Daniels is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Ferdinand really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Daniels. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Ferdinand is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Daniels is looking to stand up but Ferdinand isn't so interested in that idea.
Daniels can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Ferdinand controls the pace.

Daniels is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a triangle but Ferdinand frees his head nicely. Oh but Daniels has switched to an armbar! Ferdinand is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
