3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Jason McKinney! The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Peter Branson and Michael Johnstone.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Sainte Roche fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Sainte Roche closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into McKinney's guard. Sainte Roche trying to control the position from guard on top but McKinney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. McKinney is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sainte Roche is controlling him. McKinney is trying to hold Sainte Roche in close to prevent damage but Sainte Roche has managed to pass into half guard.
McKinney is looking to improve his position.
Sainte Roche is sneakily working for an arm triangle but McKinney sees it coming and defends easily. Sainte Roche could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. McKinney gets full guard. Sainte Roche pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. McKinney is keeping the position for now. Sainte Roche drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Sainte Roche jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position. McKinney keeping moving, preventing Sainte Roche from controlling successfully. Sainte Roche wants to pass the guard but McKinney is keeping the position. Sainte Roche content to stall in guard here. McKinney is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Sainte Roche wants to control but McKinney is keeping busy and won't allow it. McKinney tries to stand but can't do so whilst Sainte Roche controls his leg.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now. Sainte Roche controls McKinney momentarily but McKinney frees himself. Sainte Roche is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McKinney slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. McKinney wants to lay and pray for a moment but Sainte Roche keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. Sainte Roche can't do much from the bottom here. Sainte Roche is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on McKinney's leg. He's managed it. Nice work. Sainte Roche tries to roll over but McKinney keeps him under control. Sainte Roche is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of McKinney's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take McKinney's back! McKinney is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two. McKinney fending off the submission attempt from Sainte Roche. Sainte Roche avoiding McKinney 's attempts to control his hands.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! McKinney looks to control his opponent's hands but he's not mananging it at the moment. McKinney tries to escape the position - he's now mounted. Is that better or worse? Hard to tell! Sainte Roche looking for a guillotine from mount but McKinney is having none of it. Sainte Roche is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but McKinney is surviving well by controlling Sainte Roche's body position as best he can. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Sainte Roche wants to control the pace but McKinney is squirming around nicely. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sainte Roche changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. McKinney tries to avoid it but Sainte Roche manages to keep hold of a leg and drag McKinney to the ground. McKinney escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sainte Roche shoots in but McKinney avoids the takedown attempt easily. McKinney scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground. Sainte Roche looking for submissions off his back. McKinney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sainte Roche does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Sainte Roche slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. McKinney got a little sloppy there for a moment and Sainte Roche has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, McKinney has managed to get both his arms back between Sainte Roche's legs - danger averted. Sainte Roche is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
