Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Angel Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Nim (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tim Nim has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Angel Jones! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tim Nim! The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Gwen Towbar and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jones takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
It looks like Angel Jones has been cut. Jones fails with the takedown. Nim throws a head kick that misses. Nim misses with a body kick. A head kick misses from Nim. Jones tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nim sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Jones somewhat. Jones looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Nim leaves Jones with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Angel Jones. That's going to take a lot out of him. Jones has a takedown stuffed. Nim misses with a double jab
and Jones moves into the clinch. Jones is trying to drag Nim to the mat but Nim just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Jones keeps control of Nim as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jones is working for takedown but Nim is calmly controlling the position for now. Nim gets underhooks to prevent Jones's takedown attempt.
Jones breaks from the clinch.
Jones shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Nim's guard. Nim keeping moving, preventing Jones from controlling successfully. Nim controls Jones momentarily but Jones frees himself. Jones tries to free his leg and advance position but Nim is retaining full guard. Jones is in a tricky position. We've heard reports from his gym mates at BLACKSMITH GYM - THE 25 Coach Las Vegas Mega-Gym that he's been drilling escapes, so let's see if he can get back to his feet. Jones is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Jones throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Jones landing some decent shots from guard. Jones content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Jones landing with the ground and pound. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Jones stands and throws Nim's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jones fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Jones misses with an attempted head punch from side control. Jones throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Jones in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Jones wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Nim, who protects the arm well. Nim takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head. Jones controlling the position.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Nim on the wrong end of some ground and pound. Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Nim is looking to reverse the position. Jones controls the position. Jones lands a few punches from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Nim is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Nim takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Jones landing strikes. Jones tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Jones works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Jones working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Jones in side control lands a decent elbow. Jones lands some shots froms side control. Jones is working to tighten his grip on Nim's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Nim has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Jones is really squeezing tight and eventually Nim passes out! Jones breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:36 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Arm Triangle). Angel Jones!
