Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between John John (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Edmundo Maximiano (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Maximiano is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: Spandau Ballet - Gold. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Mauricio Rocha and Leandro Rodrigues.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maximiano shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says John as he avoids it easily.
John tries to clinch up but Maximiano circles away and keeps his distance.
A slapping body kick lands there for Maximiano.
John misses with a takedown attempt
and Maximiano counters with a single leg into guard. John didn't expect that.
John trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Maximiano wants to stand but John is controlling his posture from full guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
John keeping moving, preventing Maximiano from controlling successfully.
John wants to sweep but no luck.
Maximiano wants to control from the top but John keeps moving.
John has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Maximiano must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now John is on top in guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
John is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Maximiano is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Maximiano has escaped and now he's on top!
John is breathing heavily.
John is working for submissions here. He's thrown up his legs looking for a tringle but Maximiano frees his head nicely. Oh but John has switched to an armbar! Maximiano is tapping furiously! Lovely submission there!
