Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kule Den (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Mein (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Mein!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, William Peck and Alec Ball.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mein ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mein fails to land with a series of punches.

Den uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Mein.
Den misses with a jab, cross combination.
Mein misses with a straight right.
Mein uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Den.
Mein throws a hook but Den blocks it.

Den darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Mein swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Den counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

Mein lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Den circles away quickly and effectively.

Mein throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Den.

No joy there for Den, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mein has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Mein might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.

Mein misses with a hook. Den ducked under it nicely.
Den steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Mein.
Den takes one on the chin but seems OK.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Mein throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Den.
Den dips to his left and cracks Mein with an uppercut!

and Den connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Kule Den will probably get the nod.

We are yet to see a takedown attempt from Mein in the fight. On paper you would think he is the more dominant ground fighter so let's see if these unusual tactics pay off.

Mein is rocked!
Den creates some distance for himselfand unleashes a massive uppercut that sends Mein's eyes rolling into the back of his head! Mein drops to his knees and Den pours it on with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
