Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Edgar Reynolds! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of

The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reynolds throws a series of punches but Drake moves out of range. Drake misses with a takedown attempt - Reynolds sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Drake looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Drake shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Reynolds but Reynolds pushes him off and we're back to square one. Edgar Reynolds has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Christian Drake. Drake fails to land the takedown. Drake chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Reynolds can pounce on him.
Edgar Reynolds seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Drake shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reynolds as he avoids it easily. Drake shoots in and bounces Reynolds off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Drake wants to control from the top but Reynolds keeps moving.
That's one minute gone in the round. Drake controlling from the top position. Reynolds throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Drake drops back looking for a leg! Reynolds is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reynolds manages to kick Drake off! Drake jumps back into Reynolds's guard. Reynolds avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Drake loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Drake advances position into side control! Reynolds knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Drake on the ground. Drake is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Reynolds knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. Drake looks gassed! Reynolds is looking to reverse the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Drake has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Drake working the ground and pound. Drake working the ground and pound but he's contacting the mat, not the fighter. Reynolds wants to control but Drake postures up. Reynolds is not content to let Drake control the position. Drake thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Drake has an Americana. Reynolds didn't react quickly enough there and he's in big trouble now! He tries to squirm out but is forced to tap! Drake is delighted and gyrates infront of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Drake hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
