Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Larry Bowen (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jan Dokkers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Larry Bowen! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jan Dokkers! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Aafke Stam and Radbod Blank.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dokkers with a lazy takedown attempt and Bowen counters with a two punch combo. Bowen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Dokkers but Dokkers pushes him off and we're back to square one. Dokkers shoots and misses and Bowen counters with a two punch combo. Dokkers clinches up against the cage. Dokkers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bowen pulls his leg out and moves away.
Larry Bowen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Dokkers. Dokkers gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Bowen counters by clinching up. Dokkers is looking for a takedown. Bowen has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Bowen wants to stall.

Dokkers jumps guard but Bowen stands there with Dokkers around his waist. Dokkers gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Dokkers drops down looking for an ankle pick but Bowen pulls his leg out and moves away.

Bowen connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dokkers's hands. Bowen avoids the head kick by Dokkers.
Dokkers throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Bowen's waist but Bowen gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Dokkers off to one side. Bowen closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dokkers did well to prevent Bowen getting side control. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Dokkers looking for submissions off his back. Dokkers avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Bowen.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowen is nestled in close to Dokkers, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure. Dokkers is looking to control Bowen's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Dokkers avoid being mounted? Bowen scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bowen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bowen scoring with strikes to the body and head. Bowen lands strikes from half guard. Bowen not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Bowen will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Bowen is looking for a kimura here.
Bowen wants to lay and pray for a moment but Dokkers keeps working.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dokkers tries to roll over but Bowen keeps him under control. Bowen throwing shots but Dokkers is blocking nicely. Dokkers moves into full guard.
Bowen has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Dokkers is trying to control the position but Bowen postures up. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Bowen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Bowen stops Dokkers from standing up. Bowen trying to control but Dokkers is working from the bottom. Bowen missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Dokkers avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Dokkers had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Bowen defends it easily.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Dokkers preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dokkers will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Dokkers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dokkers trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from! Bowen working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Dokkers throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Bowen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bowen wants to stand but Dokkers is controlling his posture from full guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bowen content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Larry Bowen dominated that round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!
Dokkers misses with a takedown attempt - Bowen sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Bowen rushes Dokkers and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Bowen misses with the head strike.
Dokkers tries to score a body lock takedown but Bowen shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Bowen wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Dokkers has him pressed against the cage. Dokkers has Bowen pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bowen manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Larry Bowen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jan Dokkers. Dokkers wants a takedown.

Dokkers is breathing heavily. Bowen working some nice short punches in the clinch. Dokkers has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Bowen is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Bowen working aggressively here.

Bowen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Dokkers with a lazy takedown attempt and Bowen counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Bowen prevents a body shot from Dokkers. Dokkers jumps guard but Bowen turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing. Bowen scores with a shot to the side of Dokkers's head.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Bowen manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dokkers on his heels. He'll look to pass Dokkers's guard now, I'm sure. Bowen throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Bowen is in close to Dokkers's body, working some short punches and elbows. Larry Bowen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Dokkers throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Dokkers can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Bowen controls the pace. Bowen throwing strikes from guard but Dokkers blocks nicely. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Bowen is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Dokkers is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Bowen shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Bowen with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bowen landing some decent shots from guard. Dokkers has an active guard here but Bowen has managed to pass into half guard.
Bowen takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Dokkers is trying to get back to full guard. Bowen performing his best blanket impression for a moment. Dokkers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Bowen lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
That's one minute gone in the round. Dokkers wants to get back to his feet. Bowen wants to stand up but Dokkers is controlling the position.

Bowen moves into side control, avoiding the strikes from Dokkers.
Dokkers throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land. Bowen remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while. Bowen sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Dokkers is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Bowen gets to mount! Dokkers was on the offensive and wasn't defending properly.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bowen misses with a head shot. Dokkers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Dokkers in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Bowen with a couple of short strikes. Dokkers wants to control but Bowen is having none of it. Dokkers swinging wildly from the bottom but he's not landing. Bowen landing shots from mount. Bowen throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Dokkers because Bowen loaded up on that one. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Bowen breaks from Dokkers's wrist control and lands an elbow. Dokkers bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done! Dokkers pushing down on Bowen's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Dokkers looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bowen preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Dokkers stands up and waves to Bowen to follow him. Jan Dokkers has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Larry Bowen is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Dokkers throws a left and a right that both miss
and Bowen counters with a lovely straight right hand!
And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Larry Bowen. Well Bowen has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win...
