Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Edison Patterson! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Almark Badajos! The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Badajos shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Patterson pinned against the cage. Patterson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Patterson shoots in but Badajos avoids the takedown attempt easily. Badajos walks into a jab. Badajos tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Patterson paws at him with a jab and circles away. Patterson lands a nice looking body shot.

Patterson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Patterson has Badajos pushed against the cage. Badajos tries a knee to the head but Patterson blocks it.

Patterson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Badajos is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Patterson fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Badajos closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Badajos lands in his opponent's guard. Patterson working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Badajos. Badajos really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Patterson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Patterson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Patterson is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Patterson prevents Badajos from getting back to his feet. Badajos is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Patterson presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat. Badajos drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Patterson shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Badajos pinned against the cage. Badajos gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Badajos. Patterson shoots in but no luck this time.

Patterson working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely. Badajos is trying to drag Patterson to the mat but Patterson just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Badajos is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Patterson is defending well. Patterson lands with a light punch inside. Patterson fails to pull guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Badajos tries to land a knee to the head but Patterson blocks with his arms.
Patterson's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Patterson manages to pull guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patterson tries to avoid it but Badajos manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Patterson to the ground. Patterson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Patterson swats away the attempt to clinch by Badajos. Badajos is looking to clinch. Badajos is looking to take this fight into the clinch. Patterson shoots for a double leg takedown but Badajos sprawls well. He's pushed Patterson's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Patterson avoids the head kick by Badajos.

Badajos pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Patterson tumbling to the mat - Badajos dives into Patterson's guard. Badajos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Patterson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Badajos manages to get himself to full guard.

And that's the end of the fight! That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Edison Patterson. I think Patterson has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
