Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jon Trap (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roque Johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Roque Johnson has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jon Trap! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Roque Johnson! The judges for this bout are Bruno Lombardi, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Johnson thuds a left hand into Trap's body. Trap changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Johnson tries to avoid it but Trap manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Johnson to the ground. Johnson escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Johnson stuffs the takedown attempt from Trap. Trap gets slowly back to his feet. Johnson keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.

Trap fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Johnson to the ground. Trap is now in Johnson's guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Trap passes easily into side control. Nice work. Johnson is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Trap working the head and body with strikes.

Sloppy strikes there by Trap. Trap is putting a hurting on Johnson here, landing some big shots from side control. Trap wants to control but Johnson is keeping him busy. Trap tries to score with some ground and pound. Johnson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Trap is working Johnson over with some ground and pound from side control. Johnson felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it. Trap is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Johnson has escaped the position, nice work there. Trap throws a strike aimed at the side of Johnson's head but Johnson avoids it well. Trap in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Trap throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage. Trap tries to move to full mount but Johnson actually manages to regain half guard. Johnson won't allow Trap to pass to mount.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Trap lands strikes from half guard. Trap scoring with strikes to the body and head. Johnson is not content to let Trap control the position. Trap landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent. Trap takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists. Trap wants to lay and pray for a moment but Johnson keeps working. Trap is working for a submission of some sort.
That's four minutes gone in the round. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Trap thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. Trap trying to control from half guard but Johnson is working away. Trap controlling the pace. Trap throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action! Trap wants to work for an arm triangle but Johnson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Trap is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Roque Johnson wasn't active enough on the ground. Johnson lands a two punch combo.
Trap drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Trap trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Trap has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Trap drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Johnson manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Trap has Johnson in his guard. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Trap looking to hit a scissor sweep but Johnson is one step ahead there. Johnson loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Trap is on top in guard.

Nice sprawl there from Johnson as Trap shoots in. Johnson is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot. Johnson slaps away a takedown attempt from Trap, before circling back to the center of the mat. Trap avoids the clinch attempt nicely.

Roque Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Johnson lands a head shot. Johnson throws a nice looking combination but Trap bobs and weaves to avoid any damage. Johnson lands with a shot to the body. Both fighters are breathing heavily. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
That's one minute gone in the round. Johnson stuffs the takedown. Trap takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it. Johnson's jab looks to have found its range, popping Trap under the eye.
Trap is rocked! Johnson lands an uppercut out of nowhere! Trap falls backwards - clearly groggy! Johnson dives in and finishes the fight with more strikes for a TKO finish!
