Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jon Paul Fish! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jacques Lim Napoles! The judges for this bout are Skip Squint, Winston Howard and Ron Honeybunn.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Fish misses with an uppercut. Napoles lands a right hook to the body.
Fish throws a leg kick but Napoles sees it coming and checks it nicely. Fish gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Napoles. Napoles paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button. Fish bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Napoles's head. Both fighters circling a little - Fish finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Fish looks to score with a jab to the body but Napoles is just out of range. No luck for Napoles with that takedown attempt. Napoles comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Fish misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Napoles decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Fish might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Fish is trying to stand.
Napoles is trying to control the action in half guard but Fish is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Fish looks like he's trying to stand up.
Napoles is looking for a kimura but Fish is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Napoles to get the leverage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Fish is trying to stand back up but Napoles is controlling him
Napoles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fish keeps working. Napoles is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Fish is just riding it out for now. Napoles eventually gives up the hold. Napoles maintaining the dominant position here and is working for a kimura. He's locked it up! Fish could be in real trouble here! He's trying to wriggle out but Napoles has cracked it and Fish is screaming in pain - he's tapped out! Great finish by Napoles!
