And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Aleksander Lavronenko!
The judges for this bout are Ben Zyskovitsi, Johanna Lukiainen and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kipping scores with a takedown into Lavronenko's guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kipping is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Kipping throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Lavronenko works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Kipping has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Lavronenko is proving hard to escape from.
Kipping stays in close to Lavronenko's body and controls the position.

Kipping's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Kipping missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Lavronenko wants to get back to his feet but Kipping passes into half guard.
Kipping stops Lavronenko from getting back to his feet.

Kipping is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kipping is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Kipping controlling the position easily from mount.
Lavronenko is in all sorts of trouble here.

Kipping has control of Lavronenko's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Lavronenko regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Kipping looking to control but Lavronenko is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kipping breaks from Lavronenko's wrist control and lands an elbow.
Kipping landing strikes from the mount and Lavronenko is in trouble!

Kipping putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound!
Kipping lands a big elbow.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lavronenko is working to get back to half guard.
Kipping has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Lavronenko's face.

Kipping is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Lavronenko to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Lavronenko shrugs it off.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kipping looking to finish Lavronenko with some ground and pound. This is bad for Lavronenko!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Kipping moves forwards but Lavronenko connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Kipping will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kipping takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.


It looks like Peter Kipping has been cut.

Lavronenko throws a shot to the body.
Lavronenko swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Kipping.

Kipping forces Lavronenko back against the cage and clinches.
Lavronenko is stalling here.
Lavronenko lands with a right to the head.

Kipping wants to get back to striking at distance but Lavronenko won't allow it.
Lavronenko lands a body shot in the clinch.
Kipping can't break the clinch.

Lavronenko pushes Kipping back against the cage and unloads with a body punch.
Lavronenko just leaning against Kipping, taking a breather.

Kipping's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Kipping takes a jab right on the kisser.
