The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Headed throws a front kick that sends Bowens stumbling back into the cage.
Bowens has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Headed uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Bowens.
Bowens shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Headed but Headed pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Headed tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Bowens defends well and Headed ends up having to push Bowens into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Headed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Headed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Bowens paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Bowens tightens his grip and picks Headed up, before dumping him to the ground. Headed manages to land in guard.
Bowens sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Headed's guard.

Bowens is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Headed is looking for a sweep. Bowens is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Bowens is working for the choke. I would put my money on him to finish from this position. He's rolled onto his back and has dragged Headed with him. Headed is trying to defend but Bowens has an arm under the chin now! Headed grimaces and is forced to tap out!
