Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Mike Swick (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dakota Finley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Finley comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Straight Outta Compton kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mike Swick! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Dakota Finley! The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Lou da Vinci and Joseph Jones.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Finley shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Swick as he jumps to the side. Swick throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Finley's waist but Finley gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Swick off to one side. Finley fails with the takedown. Swick wants to clinch up but Finley keeps it at a distance. Finley is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Swick. Swick shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat. Swick gets to his feet. Finley looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son! Swick rushes Finley and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch. Finley tries to pull guard but Swick won't allow it.
Mike Swick has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Dakota Finley. Finley prevents a takedown attempt there.
Finley is trying to maintain a safe position but Swick gets an underhook and turns Finley into the cage. Finley leaning against his opponent.
Finley goes for a takedown attempt but Swick pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Swick shoots for a double leg takedown but Finley sprawls well. He's pushed Swick's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Finley changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Swick looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's one minute gone in the round. Finley blocks the strikes from Swick.
Finley wants to lay and pray for a moment but Swick keeps working. Swick is looking to regain half guard here but Finley keeps moving and retains side control. Swick is not content to let Finley control the position. Swick is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Finley off and has taken his back! Finley covering up well and avoiding damage. Finley controlling Swick 's hands. Swick lands a couple of good shots to his opponent's body and a final shot to the head. Good little attack there by Swick.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Swick looking for the RNC. Swick throwing strikes from the back - he gets a warning from the referee for striking the back of the head but all these shots are hurting Finley!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Swick missing with strikes from the back. Swick landing with strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Swick has Finley flattened out and is raining down punches. Swick looking for the RNC. Swick is breathing heavily. A lull in the action here.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swick is throwing punches to the body, looking to soften Finley up.
Swick doesn't have the hooks in and Finley manages to turn into his guard.
Finley won't allow Swick to get back to his feet. Swick keeping moving, preventing Finley from controlling successfully. Swick is looking to stand up but Finley isn't so interested in that idea. Finley postures up.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Swick gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Swick is active off his back here, looking for submissions.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Swick keeping moving, preventing Finley from controlling successfully. Finley looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Finley wanted to stand there but Swick had control of the position. Swick has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Finley decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Swick, up you get! The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Swick closes the distance and clinches up with Finley, looking for a takedown. Swick pushes Finley against the cage but Finley circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Swick misses with a double jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Finley shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it. Finley gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Swick counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Swick. Swick wants to control from the top but Finley keeps moving. Swick tries to stand but Finley is controlling from the bottom. Swick throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Finley works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Swick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Finley keeping moving, preventing Swick from controlling successfully. Swick postures up in Finley's guard and throws a big left but Finley blocks it. Swick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. A leg kick checked by Finley. Swick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Finley but Finley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Finley feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Finley controlling from the top position. Swick is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Swick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Finley not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Swick is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Swick not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Finley sitting in guard, not really doing much. Finley working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Swick wants to get back to his feet but Finley is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Swick throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

Swick gets caught flat footed, as Finley shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Swick tries to land a sweep but no joy. Finley lands a couple of decent looking shots. Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up. Finley misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Swick connects with a nice looking jab.
Swick shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Finley but Finley pushes him off and we're back to square one. Finley tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Swick swivels and escapes. Finley fails in his attempt to clinch. Swick closes the distance looking to clinch and Finley counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Swick's guard now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dakota Finley showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!
Finley fails with the takedown and Swick counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Swick wants to get up but he can't break Finley's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here. Swick stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Finley swivels though and keeps the full guard. Finley is pulling down on Swick's head. It's preventing any offense from Swick, at least for the moment. Swick postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Swick gets to his feet - Finley follows without any prompting. Swick shoots for a takedown but Finley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Finley looking for a takedown here - he's got it. Swick keeping moving, preventing Finley from controlling successfully.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Swick will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Finley takes the fight into the clinch. Finley breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

and Finley decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Swick's guard. Finley forces his way into half guard. Swick slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work. Dakota Finley has got the better of the ground game so far. Swick throwing his legs up looking for a triangle.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Swick wants to stand but Finley is controlling the position. Swick is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Swick can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Finley controls the pace. Swick looking to hit a scissor sweep but Finley is one step ahead there. Finley must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Finley gets to his feet - Swick follows without any prompting.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Swick misses with a series of wild punches.
Finley looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Swick! Finley lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.
Swick wants to hold on but Finley pushes him away. Finley is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Swick has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Finley has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Swick's face.
Swick is looking to get to half guard. Swick tries to buck Finley off but he can't manage it.
And that's the end of the fight! Dakota Finley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I think Finley has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
