Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Shono (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cearnaigh Chulainn (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jason Shono has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jason Shono!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Cearnaigh Chulainn!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shono wants to clinch but Chulainn slips to the side

and Chulainn counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Shono!
Chulainn just content to control the position.
Chulainn works a knee to the body and follows up with a nice elbow to the head.

Chulainn stands up.
Shono tries to close the distance and clinch but Chulainn swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Jason Shono seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Chulainn closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Shono to the mat! Shono manages to get full guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Shono utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Chulainn is trying to trip Shono. He has hold of a leg but Shono is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Chulainn persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

Shono wants to get back to his feet but Chulainn is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Cearnaigh Chulainn.
Chulainn shoots in and drives through. Shono sprawls well.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Chulainn feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Chulainn seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Chulainn's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Cearnaigh Chulainn wasn't active enough on the ground.
Shono is looking to take this fight into the clinch.

Chulainn escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Shono moves in looking to clinch but Chulainn pushes him off.

Shono stuffs the takedown.

and Chulainn counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Chulainn.

Our sources have told us that Shono has been working on his knees in the buildup to the fight.

Chulainn gets control of Shono's arms and successfully pulls guard. Chulainn will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.
Shono has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Chulainn is proving hard to escape from.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chulainn has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Chulainn tries to advance to mount but can't.
Chulainn takes a little break here. Shono wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Shono knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Chulainn on the ground.

Chulainn works to advance to full mount. Shono defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.

Shono is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.

BOOM! Chulainn connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Shono wants to get back to his feet.

Chulainn is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Shono can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Chulainn stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Chulainn drives through and clinches with Shono against the cage.

Cearnaigh Chulainn showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Chulainn shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Shono is trying to defend but Chulainn finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Chulainn is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Shono is just riding it out for now. Chulainn eventually gives up the hold.

Chulainn postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Shono to stand up.

and Chulainn counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Chulainn slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Chulainn has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Cearnaigh Chulainn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

and Chulainn counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Shono's guard now.

Chulainn is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Shono trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Chulainn working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cearnaigh Chulainn is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

I've got Chulainn winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
