Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Mike Kellog! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Daniels! The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Daniels fails with the takedown and Kellog counters with a one-two to the body. Daniels wants to clinch up but Kellog keeps it at a distance. Kellog works the jab nicely. Kellog lands a left and a right that send Daniels crashing to the mat, dazed. Kellog thinks about following him to the mat but decides to wave him back up to his feet!
It looks like Carlos Daniels has been cut. Kellog definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Daniels tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Kellog manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat. Daniels walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head. Daniels dodges the punch combination from Kellog.
Daniels wants to clinch. Daniels shoots and misses and Kellog counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Kellog lands a nice looking body shot.
Daniels closes the distance but Kellog moves to the side and Kellog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Kellog scores with the left hand. Daniels knows he should have avoided that one.
That's one minute gone in the round. Daniels darts in trying to clinch and Kellog counters with a quick right hand to the jaw. Kellog connects with a body shot. Daniels has his takedown stuffed and Kellog counters with a series of strikes. Daniels will be more careful next time no doubt. Mike Kellog has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carlos Daniels. Daniels misses with an uppercut. Kellog saw that one coming. Mike Kellog is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Kellog throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean. Kellog takes a head kick and keeps coming.
This has been an exciting period of action! Kellog swings for the body but Daniels moves out of range.
Daniels throws a sloppy head kick and Kellog moves out of range easily. Kellog scores with a one two! Daniels had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes. Daniels with a lazy takedown attempt and Kellog counters with a left to the body.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Kellog tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Daniels is able to avoid easily. Daniels doesn't succeed with the takedown and Kellog counters with a lovely shot to the body. Kellog misses with a leg kick and Daniels counters with a three punch combo that has Kellog backing up. Kellog nods at Daniels to acknowledge the strikes. Kellog misses with a low kick.
Daniels misses with a takedown attempt and Daniels takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Daniels is trying desperately to land a takedown but Kellog is having absolutely none of it. This is turning into a bit of a nightmare for Daniels. Daniels moves forwards but Kellog connects with a nice, crisp jab. Kellog tries to work over Daniels's front leg with a kick but Daniels checks it. Kellog scores to the head and body with a nice combination! Kellog is looking to chop away at Daniels's legs. Daniels fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kellog. Daniels on the wrong end of a nice hook. Daniels takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket. Daniels misses with a takedown enabling Kellog to counter with a crisp jab.
Daniels is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kellog misses with a few strikes there.
Oooooh!!! Kellog has knocked Daniels down with a huge combo! Kellog steps away and waves a wobbly Daniels back to his feet! This one might not go much longer! Daniels is still on wobbly legs! Can Kellog finish him? The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. No joy there for Kellog, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Daniels seems to have recovered his senses. Daniels scores with a kick to the midsection. Kellog drops Daniels with a beautiful combination! Daniels stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Kellog is looking for the KO!
That has opened up Carlos Daniels's cut even more. Daniels misses with a takedown attempt and Kellog connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Daniels tries to bum rush Kellog with a series of wild strikes but Kellog uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kellog rushes Daniels with punches - Daniels moves straight backwards instead of circling and gets clipped by the second strike... and the third... and the fourth! Oh, Daniels goes down! Kellog follows up with more strikes and the ref steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:55 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Mike Kellog!
