Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Frank Baker (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Richard Lukeba (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Frank Baker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Richard Lukeba!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lukeba shoots in looking for a takedown. Baker tries to sprawl out of it but Lukeba keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Baker manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Lukeba looking for a sweep. Not yet Lukeba, not yet.
Baker sitting in guard here, content to control.
Baker has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Lukeba bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Baker's guard.
Baker has Lukeba pulled in close to control his posture.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Lukeba is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Lukeba is fighting to break Baker's control of his arms but Baker is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

The referee stands the fighters back up. Frank Baker just wasn't active enough from the dominant position.

Baker closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Lukeba is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baker seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Lukeba for as long as he can get away with.

Lukeba shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Baker is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Lukeba with a lazy takedown attempt

and Baker decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Lukeba's guard.

Lukeba escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Baker gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Baker is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Baker sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Lukeba's guard.

Baker is pressing down on Lukeba's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lukeba is holding on for now.
Baker perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Lukeba on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Lukeba is looking to control Baker's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Lukeba avoid being mounted?
Baker looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Baker passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Lukeba!

Lukeba's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Baker takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Lukeba tries to hold on but Baker postures up.
Lukeba is in all sorts of trouble here.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Baker is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Baker, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
