Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jed Paul (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samuel Victor (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Paul might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Fueled -Anthrax. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jed Paul! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Samuel Victor! The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Ian Loll and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Paul.
Paul fails with an attempt to clinch.
Victor closes the distance and clinches. Paul is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Victor gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Victor has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Paul clear over his head and slammed him to the mat! Victor is persistently looking for the submission but Paul is defending it well.
Paul is trying to get back to his feet but Victor has full control of the position and if anything, Paul has just worked his way into a worse spot. Our spies down at at Blackzilians Fighting Gym inform us that Victor has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off? Victor looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Victor is trying to stick to Paul's back but Paul is turning into Victor. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Victor's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Paul. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Paul is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
That's one minute gone in the round. Victor is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. Victor keeping moving, preventing Paul from controlling successfully. Paul is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Victor is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him. Paul lands a couple of digs. Paul controlling from the top position. Paul seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Victor for as long as he can get away with. Paul decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Victor, up you get!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Paul tries a head kick but it misses.
A combination from Paul does no damage. Paul misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Paul lands an overhand right.
It looks like Samuel Victor has been cut. Paul fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Victor, pushing him back against the cage. Victor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Paul tries to close the distance and clinch up but Victor swats him away and circles back towards the center. Paul fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Victor closes the distance and pushes Paul back into the cage. Paul drops down looking for an ankle pick but Victor pulls his leg out and moves away.
Paul is trying hard to land a takedown here. Victor sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jed Paul. That's going to take a lot out of him. Victor fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Paul sprawls well initially but Victor persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Victor wants to free his trapped foot but Paul is holding on for dear life with his legs. Victor wants to work for an arm triangle but Paul is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Victor looks winded! Paul trying to hold on to Victor's head to control him but Victor postures up.
Paul is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Victor's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Victor's back!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Paul lands strikes to the head. Paul is hanging on to Victor's back as he tries to escape.
Victor trying to control the hands but Paul won't let him. Paul throwing damaging strikes from the back! Victor could be in trouble here!
Victor is rocked! Paul lands with a couple of good shots - one to the side of the head and one questionable shot that could be viewed as to the back of the head but the referee lets it go.
Victor is still in real trouble! Can Paul finish him? We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Paul is punishing Victor with strikes - can he finish him?! Paul is working the back position looking for the choke. Oh, he's slid into an armbar! Beautiful transition and Victor taps out! Fantastic Jiu Jitsu from Paul.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Jed Paul! An out of breath Jed Paul thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
