Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Caro (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jay Bitaskis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bitaskis comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Wuthering Heights - Bad Hobbits Die Hard kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A right-left combo lands from Caro.
Caro throws a body punch but Bitaskis moves out of range.
Bitaskis misses with a few strikes there.
Bitaskis jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Bitaskis throws a right and a left that both miss.
Bitaskis tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Caro was well out of range. Poor timing from Bitaskis.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Bitaskis tries to stand but Caro is controlling from the bottom.
Caro wants to stand and escape but Bitaskis is having none of it.
Bitaskis wants to get up but he can't break Caro's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Caro manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Caro throws out a loose jab but Bitaskis uses good head movement to avoid it.
Bitaskis tries to close the distance and clinch up but Caro swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Bitaskis stuns Caro with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Caro throws a looping overhand right but Bitaskis ducks down to avoid it.
Caro attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.

Bitaskis moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Bitaskis's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Caro connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Bitaskis scrambles back to his feet.

Jay Bitaskis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Bitaskis is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Caro takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Bitaskis throws a head kick but Caro moves out of range.
Bitaskis moves in looking to clinch but Caro pushes him off.
Caro keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mike Caro has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Jay Bitaskis.
Bitaskis goes for a double leg but Caro avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Caro continues to drive forward.

Caro escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bitaskis shoots in for a takedown but Caro shows good takedown defense.
Caro feints a jab promting Bitaskis to slip. Caro then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Bitaskis slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bitaskis looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Caro is fending him off so far but Bitaskis persists. Nope, Caro circles away and we're back to standing.
Bitaskis looks winded!
Bitaskis throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Caro scores with the left hand. Bitaskis knows he should have avoided that one.
Caro misses with a hook. Bitaskis ducked under it nicely.
Bitaskis looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Caro lands a lovely overhand right.
Caro avoids the body shot from Bitaskis.
Caro misses with a straight left.
Bitaskis scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Caro circles away from the clinch attempt.

The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That was a close round but I would say that Mike Caro will probably get the nod.

Caro throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Bitaskis.
No luck for Bitaskis with that takedown attempt.

and Bitaskis counters with a straight that turns Caro's legs to rubber! Bitaskis pushes forward with more strikes and Caro goes down, battered and bloody! That's a wrap folks!
