Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jules Norris! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mike Poullart! The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Ian Loll and Yves DeLean.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Poullart tries to clinch up. Mike Poullart seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Poullart drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Norris striking from his own guard. Norris looking to sweep here. No luck so far. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Norris is on top in guard.
Norris not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up. Poullart wants to stand up but Norris is controlling him. Norris is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Jules Norris just wasn't active enough. Poullart shoots in and gets a takedown into Norris's guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Norris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Poullart's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poullart looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Norris has picked Poullart up and slammed him! Poullart can't keep hold of the triangle and Norris manages to pass to side control! Poullart looks winded! Norris in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows. Norris working the head and body with strikes. Poullart seems a little lost for a moment, as Norris dominates the positioning. Norris decides to stand back up. Poullart showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Norris.
Norris gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Norris has his feet on Poullart's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work. Norris feints and as Poullart raises his hands in defense, Norris changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard. Norris is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position. Norris gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Poullart slips a jab from Norris. Poullart uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Norris.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Norris decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Nice strikes from Norris there. Norris with a momentary lay and pray from half guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Poullart looks like he's trying to stand up.
Norris stands up and beckons Poullart to join him on the feet. Norris bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Norris controls the position. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
The ref stands the fighters back up. Jules Norris wasn't doing enough on the ground. Norris gets a takedown into half guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jules Norris dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Poullart steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Norris. Norris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Poullart sprawls well initially but Norris persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Norris decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet. Poullart fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Norris is out of range. Norris could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Poullart closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Norris is pressing down on Poullart's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Norris manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Poullart is breathing heavily. Excellent takedown into side control there by Poullart. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Norris sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Norris pushes Poullart off and gets back to his feet. Poullart slips a jab and a cross from Norris.
Norris has taken the fight to the clinch.
Norris manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Norris bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Poullart tries to sprawl but Norris drives through with a takedown into half guard. Norris trying to control the pace. Jules Norris overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Norris seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Poullart for as long as he can get away with. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Norris has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Jules Norris. Norris fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Poullart sprawls well initially but Norris persists and gets the takedown into half guard. Norris performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Poullart has hold of Norris's hands but Norris slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Norris in particular looking to stall. The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Poullart can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Norris controls the pace. Norris stands up from Poullart's guard - Norris perhaps looking for a knockout. Jules Norris dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
No joy there for Norris, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Poullart misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Poullart closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Norris is pressing down on Poullart's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it. Norris is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Poullart can do to turn this around? Poullart wants to control from the top but Norris keeps moving. Norris is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move. Nice strikes from Norris there. Norris looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding. Poullart takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Norris winds up and cracks Poullart with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Norris keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
That's one minute gone in the round. Poullart taking some punishment here, with Norris in his half guard. Well, if Norris is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Norris is thwarting Poullart's attempts to control the position. Norris uses his free foot to push down on Poullart's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Poullart. Norris dominating with strikes here. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A nice elbow there by Norris. Norris takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
And that's the end of the fight! Jules Norris showed his dominance in that final round. Well Norris has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
