Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Fistface (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Brennan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brad Brennan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Matt Fistface!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Brad Brennan!
The judges for this bout are Francis DeMontford, Donatello Bradman and Steve Erwin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brennan throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Fistface counters with a nice kick to the body.
Brennan shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Fistface defends it nicely.
Fistface keeps the fight on the outside.
Fistface misses with a double jab.
Brennan lands with a cross.
Matt Fistface seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brennan is looking to clinch but Fistface is avoiding it.

Fistface has managed to clinch.

Fistface breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Fistface walks into a straight right hand from Brennan.
Fistface uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Brennan.
Fistface shoots in looking for a takedown but Brennan manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Fistface's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Brennan tries to move into range but Fistface moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.


It looks like Brad Brennan has been cut.

Brennan drives through and clinches with Fistface against the cage.

Fistface breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Brennan is trying to push Fistface away but Fistface has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

Fistface throws a sloppy head kick and Brennan moves out of range easily.

Fistface fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brennan sprawls well initially but Fistface persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Fistface slips a nice elbow through Brennan's hands, connecting with Brennan's forehead.
Fistface is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Fistface blocks the strikes from Brennan.
Fistface landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.
This has been an exciting period of action!
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Fistface connects with a nice short shot to Brennan's temple.
Fistface drops an elbow to the side of Brennan's head.

Fistface is working for a submission of some sort.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Fistface is thwarting Brennan's attempts to control the position.
The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Fistface lands a nice short elbow.
Brennan misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Fistface takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Brennan felt the need to train up his defensive grappling in the buildup to the fight. Presumably he was expecting to be in a difficult position like this, so let's see if he can get out of it.

Fistface tries to stand but his hand is stuck under Brennan.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Brennan can do anything to dispel that myth.

Fistface trying to control the action but Brennan is working from the bottom.
Brennan tries to kick Fistface off but Fistface keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Fistface is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Fistface will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Brennan is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Fistface scores with a couple of nice shots.


That has opened up Brad Brennan's cut even more.

The cut above Brad Brennan's eye is starting to cause him problems now.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Fistface is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Brad Brennan's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.

The referee calls the doctor in to look at Brad Brennan's cut. Oh no, the doctor has called an end to the bout!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Cut). Matt Fistface!
A relieved looking Matt Fistface thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
