PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Nathan Silver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akiro Sata (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Sata comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Onward to Victory! kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Akiro Sata will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 7 - 0, fighting out of London, Nathan Silver!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Akiro Sata!
The judges for this bout are Saam Ante, Aafke Stam and Patrick Alders.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sata ducks right into an uppercut from Silver.
Silver slips a straight right by Sata.
Silver slaps away a takedown attempt from Sata, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Sata lands with an uppercut that bounces Silver off the cage and back into range.
Sata walks into a straight right hand from Silver.
Sata keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Sata shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Silver as he jumps to the side.
Sata fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Silver avoids it really well and circles away.
Nathan Silver has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Akiro Sata.
Sata will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Sata throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Silver's waist but Silver gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Sata off to one side.
Sata misses with a combination
letting Silver counter with a right hand.
Silver throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Horrible takedown by Sata or perhaps it was just good defense by Silver which made him look bad.
Sata moves in looking to clinch but Silver pushes him off.
Silver's corner calls for a 1-2. Silver obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

Sata is rocked!
Sata fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Sata is still on wobbly legs! Can Silver finish him?
A slow jab from Sata misses its intended target.
Sata seems to have recovered his senses.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Sata tries for a takedown but Silver circles away easily

and Silver counters with a crisp right hand that drops Sata! Silver lets Sata back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Silver misses with a looping right.
Silver is pawing at Sata, trying to feel the distance before throwing out a cross that crashes into Sata's nose. Sata is badly hurt! Silver pounces, throwing wild strikes as both fighters end up on the ground! Sata tries desperately to hold on but Silver is relentless in his assault! As Sata receives an ever increasing number of unanswered strikes the referee pulls Silver away and this one is in the books!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nathan Silver!
