The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anwar missing with a left hand there. Griffin was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Anwar misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Griffin counters with a big head kick but Anwar shrugs it off.
Anwar scores with a punch to the head.
Griffin goes for a high kick. It partially lands.
A big left from Anwar misses.
A slapping leg kick lands for Griffin.
Anwar works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Griffin is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Anwar misses with a wild body shot.
Anwar lands a right hook to the body.
Griffin shoots in looking for a takedown. Anwar tries to sprawl out of it but Griffin keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Anwar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Anwar cracks Griffin with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Griffin tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Anwar pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Griffin is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:44 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Peter Anwar!
As Peter Anwar got his breath back, he grabbed the microphone and managed to blurt out the following: Push the pace dats what im about son. He had nothing for me this time. SUPER FIGHT AT 170. IM THE BEST EVA'.
