Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between David Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mauricio Jet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mauricio Jet is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, David Perez! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mauricio Jet! The judges for this bout are Ren Mimura, Yuuki Gou and Yasuomi Hirokawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jet shoots in but Perez avoids the takedown attempt easily. A punch combination from Jet misses. No joy there for Jet, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Jet shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Perez but Perez pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jet misses with a series of wild punches.
Jet with a poor takedown enabling Perez to counter with a crisp jab. David Perez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mauricio Jet. Jet fails with a takedown attempt. Perez decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard. Perez is working for a submission of some sort.
That's one minute gone in the round. Perez is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jet is just riding it out for now. Perez eventually gives up the hold. Perez is looking for a kimura but Jet is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Perez to get the leverage. Perez is looking to advance position but Jet won't allow it. Perez is trying to work for a kimura but Jet is defending well.
We've been hearing good reports from Perez's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today. Perez is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Jet is trying to maintain the position but Perez is very close to passing his half guard. Perez looking to pass the half guard. Not this time. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Perez is pushing down on Jet's leg trying to pass to half guard. Jet is fighting to maintain full guard but Perez has managed to sneak the leg through. Perez has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Jet tries to hold on but Perez pushes him away. Perez goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jet is on top in guard.
Jet cracks Perez with a solid left hand. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Perez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Jet manages to get himself to full guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Perez looking to pass the guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Perez scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice. Jet tries to bench press Perez off him but Perez keeps the position. Perez tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Perez has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Perez working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it. Jet manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu! Jet trying to control the pace.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Jet trying to control but Perez is working from the bottom. In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Jet working his ground and pound in the gym. So far it seems to be working well. Jet might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Perez haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Jet is working Perez over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Jet sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Perez's guard. Jet wants to take a breather but Perez is having none of it.

Jet seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Perez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Perez is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Jet's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Jet's back! Jet fending off the submission attempt from Perez. Perez has got one arm under Jet's chin. This could be trouble... Jet trying to control the other hand but Perez gets it free and sqeezes tight - just a matter of time now! Yep, Jet has tapped out! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:50 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). David Perez! David Perez was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
