Sancio has chosen Faint as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Demaestri fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Sancio avoids it really well and circles away.
Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Sancio.
Demaestri looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Sancio takes a swing at Demaestri's ribcage but misses.
We've been hearing reports that Demaestri has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Demaestri looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Sancio!
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

Demaestri is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Sancio has escaped the position, nice work there.

Demaestri thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Sancio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Demaestri. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Demaestri swings around for an armbar but Sancio sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Demaestri's guard.

Demaestri is looking for a triangle here but Sancio uses the submission attempt to pass into side control.
Demaestri tries to buck Sancio off but Sancio is having none of it.
Sancio wants to stand but Demaestri has his arm trapped.

Sancio is trying to control. Demaestri wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Demaestri makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Demaestri.

Demaestri working for a triangle but Sancio defends it easily.

Demaestri working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Sancio doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Sancio manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Sancio wants to get up but he can't break Demaestri's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Demaestri has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Sancio can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Demaestri pushes a forearm under Sancio's chin to create some space. He's escaped his hips and pivoted quickly for an armbar! Can he extend the arm? Yes, Sancio is tapping out! Damn, that was fast!
