Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Theo Contreras! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Salvatore Bellomo! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Daniel Blasius and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Bellomo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Contreras quickly recovers to half guard. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Bellomo passes into side control, despite Contreras's attempt to control the position.
Bellomo is trying to get an arm triangle but Contreras is defending well. Contreras struggling a bit here. Bellomo is working Contreras over with some ground and pound from side control. Contreras is trying to control Bellomo's posture but Bellomo avoids it. Bellomo tries for a kimura but Contreras is defending well. Contreras misses with an elbow from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras wants to control but Bellomo postures up. Bellomo tries to move to mount but Contreras blocks the move with his legs. Bellomo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Bellomo working away. Contreras is trying to improve his position. Check out the look on Bellomo's face as he threw that strike - that's one determined fighter!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bellomo thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Bellomo wants to control but Contreras is keeping him busy. Bellomo looking to control but instead Contreras has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard. Bellomo wants to take a breather but Contreras is having none of it. Bellomo throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man. Contreras is looking to improve his position.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Bellomo winds up and cracks Contreras with a swinging punch to the side of the head. Bellomo is looking to take a break and control but Contreras is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Contreras is holding on to half guard well. Contreras could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely. Bellomo trying to control from half guard but Contreras is working away. Contreras wants to control but Bellomo is keeping busy.
Contreras might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. Contreras wants to improve his position but Bellomo is controlling well.
Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up. Bellomo clinches.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bellomo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back. Bellomo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Bellomo looking to hit a scissor sweep but Contreras is one step ahead there. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Contreras postures up.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Contreras trying to control the position from guard on top but Bellomo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Salvatore Bellomo dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Contreras takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt. Bellomo forces Contreras back against the cage and clinches. Contreras tries to break free but Bellomo pushes him back against the cage. Bellomo escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Bellomo rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Contreras moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Bellomo darts in and clinches Contreras up against the cage. Bellomo breaks the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round. Bellomo letting Contreras take a breather here. Contreras is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Bellomo is keeping busy. Bellomo prevents the takedown attempt.

Excellent takedown into side control there by Bellomo. Contreras isn't going anywhere.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bellomo has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Contreras! Bellomo is trying to control here but Contreras has managed to regain half guard.
Bellomo stands up from half guard. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. A momentary lapse in concentration from Contreras enables Bellomo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Contreras manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Bellomo stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Contreras swivels though and keeps the full guard. Salvatore Bellomo has got the better of the ground game so far. Contreras looking to control.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Contreras not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Bellomo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Bellomo is breathing heavily. Contreras has control of Bellomo's left arm, preventing Bellomo from doing any damage. Bellomo looking to pass the guard. Contreras keeping moving, preventing Bellomo from controlling successfully. Bellomo is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Contreras is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Contreras has escaped and now he's on top!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Contreras scores with a decent looking elbow strike. Contreras landing with the ground and pound. Contreras has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player. Contreras scoring with punches to the head and body. The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Bellomo. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man. Contreras wants to control from the top but Bellomo keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Contreras wants to stand but Bellomo is controlling his posture from full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Salvatore Bellomo showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Contreras's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!
Contreras doesn't succeed with the takedown and Bellomo counters into the clinch. Nicely done. Bellomo stops a takedown attempt from Contreras.

Contreras is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Bellomo to keep the fight standing. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Contreras tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Contreras has Bellomo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Bellomo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Bellomo's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Contreras gets caught flat footed, as Bellomo shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Bellomo with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bellomo working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Bellomo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard. Bellomo wants to pass the guard but Contreras is keeping the position. Bellomo wants to control from the top but Contreras keeps moving.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bellomo advances to half guard. Bellomo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Contreras! We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Bellomo is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Contreras to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Contreras shrugs it off. Contreras tries to hold on but Bellomo pushes him away. Contreras working to try and regain half guard.
Bellomo lands a big shot there that rocks Contreras but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Contreras taking shots to the head. Contreras is squirming around, avoiding Bellomo's attempts to control the action.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Contreras defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Bellomo. Bellomo thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!
Bellomo moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Contreras has worked his arm free - good work by Contreras!
Bellomo wants to lay and pray for a moment but Contreras keeps working.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Bellomo tries to advance to mount but can't. Contreras can't do much from the bottom here. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bellomo throwing shots but missing, from side control.
And that's the end of the fight! Salvatore Bellomo comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. Well Bellomo has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
