Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerald Mooney (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ben Konu (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jerald Mooney! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Ben Konu! The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Aafke Stam and Paulsen Ambrosius.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Konu connects with a leg kick. Mooney looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it. Konu tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Konu stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Konu wants it to stay on the feet. A left lands for Mooney. Konu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Nice jab there from Mooney. Konu fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Konu tries to clinch and Mooney counters with a nice double leg into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace. Konu is not content to let Mooney control the position. Konu on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound. Mooney wants to stand up but Konu has a hold of him and won't allow it. Konu trying to control from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee walks around the fighters to get a better view of the action. Mooney lands a nice short elbow. Mooney really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Mooney not throwing his punches with enough precision this time. Ground and pound from Mooney. Mooney sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Konu defending well though. Mooney will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Konu is trying is best to control the position here. Mooney thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Konu's head. Konu avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Mooney. Mooney wants to work for an arm triangle but Konu is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Mooney decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up. Konu closes the distance and lands a one-two. Konu looks to land a combination but Mooney avoids it well. Konu dodges the punch combination from Mooney.
Mooney swats away the attempt to clinch by Konu. Konu slips a straight right by Mooney.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Mooney scores with a takedown into Konu's guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mooney won't allow Konu to get back to his feet. Mooney postures up in Konu's guard and throws a big left but Konu blocks it. Konu is trying to hold Mooney in close to prevent damage but Mooney has managed to pass into half guard.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mooney connects with a nice short shot to Konu's temple. Konu pushes Mooney off looking to stand but Mooney dives back in and keeps control.
Mooney seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Mooney working over Konu with some ground and pound. Konu looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Konu is looking to control Mooney's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Konu avoid being mounted? Ground and pound from Mooney. Mooney decides to stand and escape the position. Ben Konu seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Konu tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Mooney paws at him with a jab and circles away. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Konu pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Konu ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Jerald Mooney dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Konu changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Mooney looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Mooney is trying to control Konu's posture but Konu avoids it. Konu lands a nice forearm strike. Mooney is looking for a sweep. Mooney wants to control but Konu postures up. Konu wants to stand but Mooney has him controlled and pulls him back into his guard. Mooney throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Mooney not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Mooney is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Mooney lands a heavy elbow. Konu takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position. Mooney goes for an armbar but Konu turns quickly into his guard - lovely anticipation from Konu. Mooney seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Konu trying to control the position from guard on top but Mooney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Jerald Mooney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Konu postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head. Konu loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Mooney holds on and takes a little breather. Konu trying to control the position from guard on top but Mooney is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Konu must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Konu trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Ben Konu has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Konu throws a low kick, looking for Mooney's leg but Mooney calmly moves out of range. Konu pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Konu pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Mooney back to the cage. Konu follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver. Konu lands a nice leg kick that just misses Mooney's sensitive parts. Konu throws a series of punches but Mooney moves out of range. Konu connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Konu tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target. Mooney has a takedown stuffed. Konu throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Mooney misses the jab. A cross from Konu lands. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Ben Konu will probably get the nod - 10:9. That's time! Mooney's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Konu keeps Mooney at a distance using the push kick. Konu goes for a high kick. It partially lands. Konu wants to clinch but Mooney slips to the side and Konu takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Konu with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.

Konu throws a front kick that sends Mooney stumbling back into the cage. Mooney shoots in but no luck this time. Mooney blocks the body kick.

Mooney postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Konu to stand up. That kick from Konu tenderised Mooney's leg. Mooney is trying to keep his angry face on.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A head kick misses from Konu. Konu tries a head kick but it misses.
Konu misses with a looping right. Konu just misses with a punch to the body.
Nice sprawl there from Konu as Mooney shoots in. Ben Konu seems to be getting the better of the standup. A punch combination from Konu misses. Mooney will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

That's three minutes gone in the round. A low kick from Konu is predictable there and Mooney makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Mooney rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Konu moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mooney avoids the head kick by Konu.
Konu shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Mooney manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage. Mooney seems keen to control Konu's posture.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's a bit of a scramble here and now Mooney is on top in guard.
Mooney content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Mooney in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. Mooney wants to control from the top but Konu keeps moving. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Mooney's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Ben Konu. I think Konu has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
