Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Jordan Mutch (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Victor Caffey (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 15 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jordan Mutch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 14 - 2, fighting out of London, Victor Caffey!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, John Roberts and Bruno Lombardi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Caffey takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Jordan Mutch seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Mutch misses with a right hand
and Caffey counters with a left and a right that stings Mutch.

Mutch forces Caffey back against the cage and clinches.
Mutch is trying to drag Caffey to the mat but Caffey just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Mutch tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Caffey just stands there and leans against the cage.

Caffey's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Mutch takes the fight into the clinch.
Kneeeeees! The crowd are calling for knees to the body. Caffey obliges.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Caffey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mutch. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Caffey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Mutch drops back, looking for a kneebar! Caffey looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Caffey looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Caffey!
You can see the frustration on Mutch's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Mutch clinches up with Caffey and pushes him back against the cage.

Mutch fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
