The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Cruz changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Caldwell looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

Caldwell is trying to control Cruz's posture but Cruz avoids it.

Cruz goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Caldwell has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cruz but great work by Caldwell.
