And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Gary Bitters!
The judges for this bout are , Frank Antenori and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Schoots blocks a leg kick.

Schoots closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Bitters quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Bitters trying to control here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Schoots trying to control the action but Bitters is working from the bottom.

Bitters is defending against the submission attempts here by Schoots.
Bitters holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

Schoots is looking for a kimura here.
Bitters trying to control but Schoots postures up.
Schoots is pressing down on Bitters's thigh, looking to free his foot. Bitters is holding on for now.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Schoots throwing shots but Bitters is blocking nicely.
Schoots is thwarting Bitters's attempts to control the position.
Bitters really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Schoots. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Schoots prevents Bitters from improving his position.
Bitters trying to control but Schoots postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Schoots is working for a submission of some sort.
Schoots passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Bitters!
Schoots trying to control but Bitters is having none of it.

Schoots is working for a guillotine from mount but Bitters frees his head quite easily.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Schoots cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Schoots can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Bitters is looking to escape.
Bitters tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Schoots is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Schoots extends the arm and Bitters is forced to tap!
